Exping/Claiming System

1) Maybe people don't want to spend 48 hours grinding away, hour after hour until level cap. Some people have lives outside of the game and so those 48 hours of grinding will probably be spread out over a few weeks. When someone set's to hit cap in as fast at time as possible they will find rhythm that gets them the most exp/hour.

2) Anyone who claims that being power leveld makes people "not learn their class" is delusional. If a person is bad, they are bad, power level or not. I can spend all the time in the world leveling a character and still use random spells when i have TP for them. Also if a player cares to do well in parties they will use all of their resources to learn what is best for their class. This means coming to the forums and searching through their class section and reading what others have found to be optimal. They will then try out the spec/rotation and modify it with what works best for them. It's not hard to use a spell and see the numbers that pop up, and then use a different spell and compare. Powerleveling does not take that away from people.

3) I think the claiming system should not be able to "shift" between players not in a group. I'm ok with other helping you out if you ask them to, but for a person to claim a mob and then lose that claim because someone want's to steal mobs is not right.

I don't care about people who PL and take shortcuts, but I solo'd all my jobs to 50 except for one. My LNC 25 hits puks in Nanawa Mines for 20 dmg and gets hit for 1/5 to 1/4 of its max HP with normal auto-attack hits. I can only make 3-5k an hour solo. That's unacceptable and I'm not finishing that job, because it's not worth my time. The low levels need some sort of fix, because it seems like we're not allowed to level up anymore pre-40 without "cheating."

what level are the puks? you should have an easy time fighting things 1 to 2 levels higher than you, and would probably get optimal exp killing same level monsters for chains. Of course grouping is better, but even solo you should be able to get substantially more exp than that. when you hit 30 i reccomend company leves with guardians favor if you get the simple kill all types leve. you ll get a 50 % exp bonus from favor, you will be able to set the levels of the enemies within 3 levels, and you wont get less exp per mob like you do in normal leves. Upond completion you will also get a completion bonus. Its probably the best solo exp you can get i think.

As far as getting to 30, even a small 2 man group helps alot, you can get link bonus, and you will get more chains from faster killing. If you really want to solo, aim for mobs like i said above.

You must be using a really bad weapon then. I just hit 50 last night on my LNC and I remember the lvl 30 grind (from a few weeks ago). It was not as bad as you say. you should try doing some levequests, the reward at the end is pretty nice. I also started leveling my PGL and I was able to solo 4 lvl 10 mobs at a time at level 8. you should try fighting mobs at most 1-2 levels ubove you, you get more exp because you're killing faster, and take less damage.
