The lcd's were $600 tota, $200 each, which I've had for over a year. The GTX580's were $250 each, I sourced them from craigslist. CPU/mobo was just under $300, ram $50, off newegg. If you keep your eyes open, there's deals to be had.I'm trying to understand how you can do this entire setup under $1500. Three decent LCD monitors alone would cost $600, then you factor in a dual SLI/Crossfire setup with whatever's the equivalent of a GTX 560, and that's already $400+. Did you have to cheap out on the other components to fit this within a $1500 budget?

Can't wait to build a new PC... must have 2-3 screens.
haha, I can't stand having less than 2 screens. I use 2 at work and have had at least 2 at home for ages. On my laptop, I always feel gimped on desktop realty.
I don't mind having one or two monitors, but I can't stand using cheap TN panels. IPS all the way for me until OLED displays come down in price drastically. And no, what they call "LED" monitors now are still LCD.
I'm sure there are better displays out there, but I haven't seen them, so my displays still look good, and they're cheap. One is a mismatched model though, which I'd like to fix, as my computer won't recognize it over hdmi, so i have to do vga to dvi adapter for that monitor. really annoying.

Ouch, that would be a deal breaker for me. I put together my rig for 3D and wouldn't be able to use it without a DVI or hdmi input on all 3 monitors.I'm sure there are better displays out there, but I haven't seen them, so my displays still look good, and they're cheap. because you showed off your rig, I feel compelled to show mine (I don't have a picture with FFXIV running, but it'd look like ass with 3d on anyhow)

Dell U2711 and U3011 to name two. There are others who make displays with those panels as well. I personally have a U3011. I'd post my setup.... but it might draw too much attention.I'm sure there are better displays out there, but I haven't seen them, so my displays still look good, and they're cheap. I personally use DisplayPort whenever possible.Ouch, that would be a deal breaker for me. I put together my rig for 3D and wouldn't be able to use it without a DVI or hdmi input on all 3 monitors.

It looks cool. Personally, I think it would end up driving me crazy though.
