Lock each item behind a huge grindfest the likes of which the world has never seen if you have to.

And here is where I stop trying to converse with that mindset.

You'd rather an item be more-or-less unobtainable, full stop, rather than be obtainable for a little extra. I'm just gonna say I disagree and end it there.
