Is it too much to say thank you?

I thank the group in general for helping me clear the dungeon, but the player who contributed the most gets a commendation. Being a healer does not mean you deserve to be thanked more then the rest. I have been leveling my DPS classes and now I have noticed how much people take DPS players for granted.

Do you as a healer take the time to thank your DPSes for making the runs possible even after suffering longer queues than yours? Guessing, Not very often.

When DPS go out of their way to help a low mp healer, with manashift or feinting for a tankbuster to help the tank save face not popping a cd, it usually goes unnoticed because tanks and healers are the self proclaimed heroes of the party.

Healer is a role. It has responsibilities. Go up and beyond those (dps your socks off is probably the easiest metric, or do mechanics in place of the dps, like picking up totems for the vanu boss in neverreap.)

You should not have to be thanked for doing your role.

If i was being hostile you'd feel it. Lol.

I run as a healer for the carry power, not the thanks.

And I work my arse off. But I do what I do cause I can do it. And what little time is necessary to save a wipe from having to run back, I'll do it because I'm a RDM! Praises are always welcomed, but never expected.

You should be playing the job you like, not because you want to be a special snowflake and get praised. A good DPS or tank is just as much worth as a good healer in my book. I won't be going out of my way to thank a specific job, just because it's that job.

I either thank EVERYONE for a run, if it was a good one
No one, if it was horrendous
A specific member if they perform well - in which case I toss them a commendation and perhaps an emote

Thanking people for playing a role, though? No. I dont do this when Im not healing and I dont expect it when I am.

Thank people for their performance not for deigning to bless you with their presence.

I mean hell even in overwatch you're given a lot more praise for taking the role of support.

I'm not sure what overwatch you're playing...but no one likes thanking the healers in overwatch either, even if you get 20k in healing.....

Healers deserve praise for being good, not just for being a healer. Healer is a job. Just being one isn't going to make me comm or thank you personally in game. However if you save our asses multiple times while dpsing and the like. Then for sure I will thank you.

I made it a strong habit of mine to thank the healer specifically everytime I see them do their healing duty properly AND see them doing DPS when no healing is needed, basically only for going beyond and above their expected minimum.

Your thank you is me doing my best to do my job right, so everyone else can do their jobs right. This goes for all roles. If you want praise just for doing what you should be doing anyway, get a dog.
