I see them as a waste of space, and the obligatory 'cute' race every game feels compelled to include for no good reason.
I could say a whole lot more about what I think of the people who play them, but I don't feel like getting forum banned.

Show us on the doll where the lalafell hurt you.
I mean, damn...sweeping generalizations much?
Just like Elezen are the generic elf race but are really ugly so its even worse
The only thing in XIV that isn't kinda generic are roegadyns and au ra.
Hyurs are just humans, elezen look like elves from pretty much any elf-related thing ever, cat girls are a trope that's been done to death, and lalafells can indeed look like chibi characters.
Most of the races have muscle tone sliders but lalafells don't.
Having some musculature would definitely help, instead of their limbs basically being cylinders.
Female Au ra are basically just Hyurs with a tale and scales with male au ra being a bit more unique.
Roegadyns are the only truly unique race and its the least played one so its not people like uniqueness that much anyways
Well, I mean "unique" in that lizard horns/scales being added to humans isn't that common of a subtrope.
The main trope of adding animal features to humans, however, has been done to death, yes. Cat/bunny girls are so commonplace that even American games like Wildstar have them.
That's not a bad example at all: that looks like an aged lalafell.
We really need more "age indicator" options for characters in general. Some of the faces you can choose look obviously older than others, but we don't often have the ability to add wrinkles in the list of facial features.

As horrifying as that image was, I disagree with the need for an age indicator simply because it goes against the intention of the game designers. That's not a bad example at all: that looks like an aged lalafell.

They're supposed to perpetually look like children and not be that discernible in regards to age. That's the whole point.possessed of a childlike countenance, it proves difficult for non-Lalafell to gauge an individual's age with any degree of accuracy.
Then again, it's not like players care that much about lore, otherwise they'd know...
Lalafell are welcoming of outsiders, and share prosperous relations with all of the other races of Eorzea.
I mean, if I want to be honest, there's a ton more games with an elf that doesn't have the small cute one. Granted this is probably the one mmo where elf is one of the least popular, which is impressive.
Yeah, don't. Because it really isn't that big of a deal.
I know a lot of us think Elezen are oddly proportioned but never once did I see that they are "waste of space"
and that serious where they might be forum banned.
Like damn, calm down.
I know Lala's are to be the "Comic relief" sometimes and jokes but some people
actually take things way too far, like this person. Really isn't that big of a deal, they
are just characters in a game lol.
