Yes, they look like children to me, and as a result I really feel uncomfortable with some glamours I've seen.
Also, I hate when lalas are used for a model for new gear because I can't actually see what it'll look like.No other race is as distorted.

I see them as adults. Cute "dwarf" race. Glamour them however you want.

I see them as children, yes.
I also can't take them seriously; like, when one appears in a scene and starts acting all evil, pulling evil or smug faces and all that stuff -- I just roll my eyes or shake my head. I hope the dev team doesn't expect people to take them seriously, because... just look at them, the grubby little sacks of rancid rubber flesh with stupid expressions and less-than threatening... well, everything; a scene with one in it loses any tension, suspense, threat, etc the moment one starts talking tough or is being portrayed as the enemy/threat/villain.
I think a different small race would've been better, something that doesn't look anything like Lala and the main selling point isn't that it's "cute" (they aren't cute...). I don't like anything about them.

You can see them as whatever you want, but the fact of the matter is that they are adults.
Hell, our very first introduction to Momodi has her musing about "lady's talk" comparing the size of dingdongs.
Unfortunately the sources I have on that come from multiple sources of hearsay: basically a few unrelated RP'ers I knew that went by the idea that by the time other races would start puberty is around the time that Lalafell appear to stop the clock. However, I can give you the opposite end of that spectrum from the Eorzean Library:Sorry if you already posted it somewhere, but please source. I could never find this info, and even asking GM's after they helped me with other situations (That warrent the ticket not me just opening a ticket going, "HOW DO LALA AGE") and it would have helped with my rp setup...
And if you've played the 2.0 BLM questline....It is not uncommon for Lalafell to live well past the age of one hundred, and even that figure is only a rough estimate of their distinctive aging curve.
The older Lalafell was said to have spent 90 years in prison, which put his age somewhere in the mid-100s range.
Here's hoping Thavnair will teach us more.
Yes and thats why people like them.

No exact source, other than that's the lowest mentioned age in NPC dialog, unless a younger NPC is introduced we have to assume this is the age where they reach max height.Sorry if you already posted it somewhere, but please source. (Side note, I thought it was 12, not 10)

This is why I ask: I see them as adults, but I want to know how many other people don't because I'm considering making machinima and I want to gauge what the reaction would be if there's a lalafell who's a bit of a womanizer.I don't get the whole "lalas = children" debate. They talk like adults, their voices are most definetly adult. Some of them sport moustaches. They ARE adults. My mind is not so muddled I can't see past a small stature. Do you guys feel this way about people with dwarfism IRL as well?
Judging by the responses, I'm guessing people would either find it funny or disturbing, which isn't necessarily what I was going for.

Another thing for me is...
I find it hilarious when a Lala get pissed off on the forums, it's so hard to
take them seriously lol. They're just so cute so I want to cuddle them. xD
