Pretty much that. Every time I play my character, no matter the race, I see her as my "other me" so I definitely see my lalas as grown up adult but, on the other side, I can pass the fact they look like children and I makes me uneasy when I see them dressed in certain manner (thus why you'll never see my lalas wearing something sexy in opposition to my other races)
Pretty much like Halflings, Gnomes or Dwarves (minus the beard) in traditional heroic fantasy
We eventually start to see Lalafells as little people with intelligent minds, and so the lore agrees of course, as everyone treats Lalafells as adults. The lore proves more than enough that Lalafells are not to be underestimated. This extends to the PC Lalafells imo. I see those Lalafells as people much like everyone else, but only with a plus point in cuteness.

People don't know how to take criticism anymore, and bad play is rewarded with with a coddling mentality. Yes, this is a casual game for the most part - that doesn't mean people need to walk on eggshells in fear of getting reported for pointing out things. This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.

Potential French fries.

The lack of actual young/child versions of the other races doesn't help the situation.
No.
They look fairly small, but there's not many MSQ lalafells that talk in a very child like manner.
In most fantasy games there are dwarvish races, lalafell is just the ffxiv version.
They're very anime like in their facial features, though, so that might be partially the cause of people seeing them as children.

To me, Lalafells are definitively adults.
It appears that FFXIV have some problems on personalizing the age of your character. It doesn't have even wrinkles (F'lhaminn should have some, since even Miqo'tes can get older).

I definitely see them as adults, simply because the game portrays them as adults irregardless of how they look. Most of the males have deep, very adult voices and the females are very mature in nature. I could see maybe if one never watches cutscenes perhaps they could assume they are more child-like, but for me that is not the case.
