I wish it was handled more like Chrono Trigger where we actually see Omega's future if we fail so we have a better motivation to succeed and gradually see the bad future change with each progression? I don't know.

Yes, challenge is a great thing but personally, I like feeling like my victory will matter for the world I play in.
What made you think Omega can manipulate time? The raid happens in a digital environment using information he's obtained by sitting on Hydaelyn for thousands of years and interacting with the Allagans. Omega at least has more ties to the MSQ than Alex did, just because it's expanding on Midgardsormr's backstory.
