More like getting annoyed at someone accusing someone else for supposedly not reading enough when in actual fact everyone is just repeating themselves or what someone else (knowingly or unknowingly) said anyway. This parse debate is not unique to this thread, it's not new, and it won't be the last thread of its kind.

If you're getting really annoyed just from reading the discussion, it might really be a good idea to take a break from reading it. It is true certain discussions and arguments are being repeated on these forums a lot, especially related to things like parsers and healer DPS and tanks who wear STR/don't use cooldowns/pull too much.

So you go and put words in his mouth and exaggerate the intentions of his statements. Don't worry that's something else that happens a lot in parse threads, but I consider that to be lower than simply asking someone to research the current point of the discussion before jumping in.

Like any of these parser threads are any different? Seriously are you suggesting this one is special. They're all the same with the parser wannabe's pushing there can't play this game without one and the community at large knows better as DOES the DEV TEAM and the DIRECTOR. You all can continue with your back and forth in this one and the many others to come but they aren't any different. If you're read one you're read them all.

One can only wonder when this one will finally die out and then how long before another got to have a parser advocate posts another thread and the the same discussion with the same tired old arguments are repeated over and over again.

Doesn't change my statement at all. Whether or not parser discussions are similar at all, it's low to put words in someone's mouth and then shame them for those words.

The parsing community is often times their own enemy. The Op has expressed intent for self improvement purposes throughout the whole thread but this is usually what these threads get derailed into. His/her opening post comes off kinda strong but overall it makes sense. Realistically if you are going to make a fight end if there is not enough DPS, you should be able to see your DPS and find ways to see whether or not its improving. This is actually part of the problem though, its somewhat rare to see someone talk about wanting to improve using this tool, usually it becomes a heated debate about other concerns related to it. The PS4 community is severely limited in this way.

As I've said before. I'm not against parsers. I even use them on occasion. What I am against is the way the general community uses them and the information they provide..

especially on things like fflogs where the only thing people look at is your dps..

This I can agree with you on alot of times people end up wit floggs where they are just learning a fight just getting use to the content etc. My V1s clear my pali only did 1500 dps mainly because I was learning the fight, and because in pugs Im not gona lie, I use clemency more than hs. My healing on the same parse was almost 100k , Im really not a fan of floggs myself as it really gets people all crazy about job nerfs and stuff like that, the one thing someone that was anti parse mention, was that floggs is pretty much just players competing with each other in pve which is stupid to me but hey whatever.

But I agree with you on floggs I think its total trash and most of the time its done without your consistent, but people enjoy it hey whatever. But the fact remains that the level of blindness that someone who cant see their damage is just awful and if you have ran numbers before you feel that its just not as engaging. I just would like to know where i stand consistently and without having to ask someone all the time.

It does not matter if you are for or against parsing (I do think it does bring more negative impacts to the community then positive)

"How can you make a game so dps focused but yet don't teach people rotations, or let people know if they are playin a job wrong. " < this question, how does a development team say "no parsing" but have such a DPS focused game?

but taking too long to recover from mechanics and are thus having a lack of uptime on the target. Or are living through CC mechanics and lose DPS because they cannot attack.

We have no mechanics or cc in this game which would cause just one single player to lose heavy DPS alone. Its all about adapting the rotation into the fight.

Suggestion: Do the Savage content (not just trying) and we talk again.
