I distinctly remember the OTHER poll too. I remember this poll being created in response to the other being nuked from the forums, only to result in the exact same ratio of votes AGAIN. The best part is the screenshot doesn't even include the personal parser votes from the third post, which only has 100 less votes from a public one - still far higher than the ones not wanting any form of official parsing, and utterly annihilating it when combined.First Poll from Would You Like an In Game Parser?
A More Flushed out poll was created and shared a similar ratio. It was disabled by moderators and resulted in a ban, presumably after the least popular side reported the thread.
That's pretty clear-cut right there. Possibly the only evidence-based data gauging community support, and everyone pretends it doesn't exist.

I created the Version II thread to more accurately gauge who wanted an in game parser and out of those who wanted only an personal parser, why they wanted to parser or alternatively why you wouldn't want a parser. I waited over a year to let the thread die so I could remake a more accurate poll.I distinctly remember the OTHER poll too. After 180+ votes it was removed for "intentionally having a negative impact on the community" and after 9 days of responding to a ticket i sent in about it, They still couldn't give me a clear reason how I had violated the forum rules.
The original parser thread has existed over a year now without repercussions.

1) Have it as one of the many optional features buried in the Character/System menus - off by default.
2) Only shows your numbers, no one else's. For EX trials and raids, maybe also show the "expected" values from the dummy in SSS as a comparison so players can know at a glance if they're where they need to be or not.
3) Swiftly and harshly ban people who bully or berate others for not sharing their numbers.
4) Realise that no matter what you do to help them, some people are content with being sub-optimal and even outright bad.
5) It's okay not to parse if you don't want to.
Serious question. Are you playing today? If so I would like to do a dungeon with you, so you can tell who's performing best, since you mentioned you know this easy.
Seraphix#9585 is my discord. Feel free to add me and we do some runs.
Except the only thing they tell you is if your basic rotation (and item level) is good enough to have a chance in the fight. They tell you nothing about how you should adjust your rotation for that fight or how well you can maintain DPS while handling the mechanics. You can have a 8 person party where everyone has cleared the dummy, no deaths, and still wipe to enrage.
Sorry, I really think you're missing my point. I'm saying that the community is rotting and parsers are swiftly moving this along by making heroes and villains out of people faster than ever before. This kind of repetitive confrontational behaviour is leading to self-destruction of the community, which in turn is leading to the kind of community where kicks, shaming, and racism are the norm. I'm just saying what I see. The problem never used to be this bad. I outlined the racist comments as a symptom of a sick community that I see getting worse everyday - for this, I partially blame parsers.Started around 04 early 05 and ended it around 08. so 3-4 years. I loved ToAU, was really good, specially odin wandering around! haha. Anyways, I think you might be ''wrong'' on this one. I see where you come from since we both been playing it, right? Now, the thing about the game (your statement) is that it's all about parsing and parsing and numbers.
Parsers are not the only cause of kicks and I never said that, they are simply a cause, a cause that is expanding its use quickly. Almost every run, I know someone's parsing. Players don't know they're being parsed. Players don't even know FFLogs exist. If you had something like this in real life it wouldn't be allowed. Comparison: You're in an office. One colleague, one day, takes information about your job performance, and without your consent or knowledge, makes 500 copies and gives it to all of your colleagues to look at. And you can't do anything about it.
As I said, but I'll restate it anyway, I'm not saying parsers are the cause, they are a cause of an increasingly volatile community. Yeah, dicks will be dicks and FF14 has always had dicks, but the dick-rate is going up fast, and the popularity of parsers increasing with the dick-rate are matching trends that I can't personally ignore. If course it happened in FF11 in its own way, but nowhere near the extent I see it now.

Ok, now I get you! Sorry for that. However, I disagree with you. I get you but I really do disagree with you. There is more bad seeds who doesn't use parser, way more. I might be wrong, but I get the feeling you mean that parser just adds more bad seeds on the game, which wont happen and there is serval reason for that, well for what I believe. As I said, but I'll restate it anyway, I'm not saying parsers are the cause, they are a cause of an increasingly volatile community. 1: Parser will allow people to see their own and other peoples performance, the most importent one is their own. There is far too many players who are really bad blaming it on others, which is ironic as hell. Example MNK said DRG dps was bad in susano last night but the DRG was 300 dps above him, so yeah... If he ran a parser he wouldn't talk out of the wrong hole in the first place.
2: The ''dick'' rate you talk about always goes up. no matter what. I telll you what, I've seen players getting worse or even just more toxic because players who tries to play well get spit on. Example: I was in expert as WHM, kept the tank alive but I asked him to use cds on big pulls, which he NEVER DID. His friend said I should heal more and I should stop sucking, yet the BLM was doing 700 dps lower than me, so again I got kicked for this. Another example is that a DPS ripped the tanks aggro in a boss in the roulette and the tank called him elitist and tryhard for ripping his aggro, he tried to vote kick him but we kicked the tank instead for being shit. So again, this is getting really stupid. I find WAY MORE of these players and belive it or not, they talk so offensive in so many ways too, yet people ignore that. You know what's extremely funny? If a parser was actually a thing in the game, people would probably still keep their mouth shut, because it causes people to report them if they start harrasing. However those who wouldn't use it would still talk shit towards others and I'm not saying you are defending them but others in here do.
Picture of the convo that day:
Tank never died even when he used no cooldowns and they tell me to learn how to heal? So, his friend is a bad tank and he tells me how to play? The BLM coulnd't even kill his own add in the first boss in kugan castle lol.
I could go all day with pictures like this, I find them funny in many ways because this is just proof of how people truely are in this game. I bet 100 bucks that you will get more screenshots of players like this than players who harras others for doing super bad dps, as in name calling them etc. Whats your input on this?
