The speed is mostly set by the tanks.

I wish this was true more often than not you get friggin' annoying DPS grabbing mobs for you.
Please stop pulling things if the tank does not want to. Go tank if you want to pull more!
I as a tank, ask my healers what they want to do.
A little communication goes a long way.
