Sprinting while gathering adds minimized the auto attack damage they take, meaning they aren't starting at 50% health when they have everything gathered.
Type while auto-running. Easy.

I mean...not always. I've had more than my fair share of tanks running off and pulling everything. Only to be at 50% or less when I can actually start healing. Lord knows the second I think about healing while they are pulling everything something will come hit me in the face.
Honestly, if the tank didn't notice the healer with him, then it's his bad entirely. Not running off without the healer seems pretty common sense to me. Probably best to make sure everyone is with you before pulling everything. Including DPS, because lord knows I can''t be spamming my big heal forever.
With soooo many changes going on now both healers and tanks are. As a healer if MP is the problem is rare that they speak up, however it's up to us tanks to gauge our dps and amount pulled. There are some really good healers out there and want full pulls and while others may not feel ok with it they still stay quite. Some players don't like to spend more than 20 min on a run ( God knows I don't ) however if a person at least lets me know that they don't feel comfortable with large pulls I can accommodate. The Sprint function is a bonus for us tanks, dps,and as a healer if tehy can incorporate it it's Gods gift to healers in a pinch.
