Alright but he obviously didn't look to see if I was actually in a position to heal, and he obviously didn't look at the chat box or he completely dismissed what I said about staying in range. He didn't even seem to be looking at his hp. It was woefully low before he was even finished the pull.

Yep happened to me a a few times, i was cheking loot after the boss, and the tank just decided to sprint all the way to next gate, by the time i got there it was too late, and im like "you know... i wasnt even there......"

Yea seen that happen to other healers many times. I personally end up not looking at any loot until the next fight is nearly over while there is very little to heal, and it is because of chain pulling tanks who act like they're soloing the instance.

I've seen this as well. However, my stance is if you sprint way ahead leaving me and the rest of the party behind, and you die, that's on you.

All I can really say is the old correlation =/= causation adage, and tanks have acted like that (pulling way too much too fast) for a long time. That said it is a team effort and situational awareness is something tanks should have...

If the tank apologised I'd have been fine with it. Stuff like this happens. He messed up, sometimes I mess up too, we all mess up. No one is perfect. I have had mass pulls go wrong, the tank apologise afterwards, I say it's okay we can just try again or go slower, and we do the rest of the instance just fine. I'm not a diva who will leave the second I see the tank is less than excellent. I just want to do a dungeon without being expected to do the impossible.

A healthy interaction. I like it when people do this, and I do this myself.
I groveled at my healer as PLD for dying on a big pull at the start of Ala Mhigo. Even after I used all my CDs to stay alive.

Really, all you need to do is to forgive each other for their mistakes.

Also a message to you healers who are sick of people sprinting off; we all mess up. Don't be the person who leaves after one mistake. Only leave if the Tank doesn't forgive.

It's definitely worse now than it used to be. At least before if they ran away, you could use Sprint as a gap closer. When they use it? GG.

Considering everyone can freely use sprint, not using it seems like a waste.

Pay attention to your tank's status bar and party list. If your tanks sprints, as a healer you have to sprint too. Both tank and healer sprints have to be in sync. Tanks sprint in order to minimize auto-attack damage from all the mobs pulled before the tank stops in one spot.

If your tank is good with quickly gathering mobs (easy with PLD Flash), you can Regen the tank while sprinting right next to the tank. That way he will recover HP while gathering the mobs. However, if your tank is a little bit slower, do not Regen your tank.

YES! THIS! ALL OF THIS!!! Jesus Tap dancing Christ why do tanks sprint off at the start of a dungeon before getting protect?! I even once had a tank ask me why didn't I cast protect on him after he had sprinted off. His swift death from lack of heals was my answer to that question.
