    Black Mage Raise Ability

    I know Yoshida said he wouldn't give black mages a raise ability because it doesn't make sense lore wise, but I disagree. I think it would make perfect sense to have a raise ability centered in black magic. Lore wise perhaps it could have something to do with void magic or necromancy? I mean, if black mages created life via golems, why not be able to restore it to those who already had it? Besides, black mage is a job I truly love. But, it has literally no utility, which is a deal breaker in most statics. I mean, it has a tiny bit via role abilities, but rdm and smn can get those abilities too on top of having DPS buffs and a raise. Black mage will have a very hard time being a job people will want in statics as long as we have no utility. I would seriously ask the development team to reconsider adding a raise ability to help even it out with red mage and summoner.

    I wouldn't mind it. The casters are the least homogenised role anyway, each one is strongly set in a unique gimmick that makes them play nothing alike, so adding res to the only one that doesn't res wouldn't do anything to hurt the uniqueness of each job. For utility, rdm still has a cure and embolden buff to offset whatever personal dps loss it has compared to blm.

    if Blm in its current state would get a res even rdm would be losing its raid spot. not to mention that smn would move down even further in grp comps - if its possible at all. Blms can out dps Sams atm - why should they give them utilities?...

    I've just had a wonderful idea. No raises for BLMs, but instead they have a targetable version of Thin Air that gives the recipient free* casting for about 12 seconds.

    *For every percent of MP that the recipient would have used, the BLM loses the same percent. That should equate to a raise costing the BLM one to two fires per raise.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

    This is for the future new DPS job : the Necromancer.
    As a BLM i dont want any kind of raise, but maybe some other utility stuff (as magical vulnerability for instance)

    That would be too OP. Infinite MP = Infinite Rez. Would have to be on a long CD.

    Only usable in astral fire, costs a lot of MP. So then while you can't get past the infinite MP issue (and tbh you're never going to get past that on blm), it's a dps loss.
