Not exactly the same topic, but apparently SE didn't mind to break the contract in XIV elsewhere. I love the games they publish under their belt, I really do, but they are infamous for shoddy business practice and bad customer service. This isn't the first time nor will it be the last.

Read the quote on Glan. Passing that, at worst SE is just leveraging on a loophole on their user agreement since steam wasn't covered or at best they simply did a logical business move which comes at a cost of bad publicity (imo).
