Oh of course, it's never really bothered me that's the way things are. It's just when someone tries to tell me that it actually revolves around real world Physics...

Best not to get too involved in situations like that. Some exceptions exist, but often prove the rule.
Fleas or many insects for existence, and their jumping potential, often defy what would be the conventional sense of gravity, where it's just a density of mass thing, mixed with pretty much high-tension springboards for feet.
I've always gone under the assumption that Final Fantasy games feature low gravity worlds. And when keeping that in mind, a lot of the physics questions its games raise fall back into place rather nicely.

You come here midway into the discussion. Which is probably why you assume things of me that were never really there. The point I was making was against someone using realism as a reference. I was actually using it to combat their point by saying that realism actually proves that it is true that all races can jump at the same height.
If you still do not believe this, that is not my problem. That is an issue of ignorance that you may have to work out with yourself.
I started this discussion stating that I dislike putting realism into games such as these and using real world physics is not the way to go for a fantasy game. That is a ridiculous outlook. However, if you are going to attempt to use real world physics against why the lalafell is jumping at the same height as the human in terms of the space between the ground and their feet. That part, although it looked like it need to be lowered and tweaked, is correct using real world physics.
What I want to know is, where can I buy what you're smoking? It seems quite obvious, that with the devs being smart as they are, could find a way to substitute in another animation. Personally, I'd like to be able to replace jumping animations with faceplant treatments.I don't get what point you are trying to make. All I said was that there can't be a middle ground for a jump feature. You either have it or you don't. You want them to blurr out people while they are jumping? Or them to look like they are still walking through an object when they actually jump over it?
Answer that please, because you didn't answer it the first time.
Thanks, but I'm a mistress, not a sir!

Lol whatever dude. Call me what you want and say what you want: Just get over it, it's being added. What I want to know is, where can I buy what you're smoking? Now I'll just say that I'm glad they are adding it to slap all the anti-jumpers in the face. I hope they make it as stupid and un-gracious as they can. /endrant
Yeah, just continue on being hypocritical about choice. At least the anti-jump crowd has at least been willing to compromise, unlike your kind.
Oh, and I'm not a dude.

Who said I'm being a hypocrite? Now your just putting words in my mouth. I never said anything about people having choice in this thread, be that about a middle ground or jumping being in the game or not.
You see, this is why I keep laughing, I made a joke and you take it to heart. Seriously dude, why DOES there have to be a middle ground? Why a cooldown? You really think people are going to keep spamming it all the time? What fact from XIV do you have that you can base a judgement as people spamming jump? YOU DON'T.wow....what a child......
BTW there is a middle ground with jumping, and one I would gladly accept. Make a small cool down for the jump so people could not "hop" and disable the use of it all together in combat, both PvP and PvE

Same here. Though again, I have more important reasons behind not backing up the filter function. If they're going to make jump worth having in the game, I'd like it to be more than just a bare bones traversing tool.
I can picture fights where there are segments you might have to jump up to to evade say a long delay super attack from a Primal... like perhaps Leviathan's Tidal wave. That comes to mind. Granted, this could be done with an incline just as well as a jump feature, but it's something to consider.
I disagree with no use in combat, but the delay function sounds fair.
It's also kind of confusing for me how people are in such support for the "Jump" attack move in the game as a part of Dragoon's arsenal, yet actual jumping in the game as a normal physics mechanic is hair pullingly horrible.
