In a leveling roulette our run was taking quite long. The healer was saying things like "We need more dps or this is going to take forever". So I switched to sword oath when I could to get some extra dps.
Then my friend said in a linkshell that the healer isn't even doing anything. A scholar that didn't cast broil, ruin2, shadow flare or any other dot even once. Not once. Just standing there, doing nothing sometimes for like 30 seconds at a time.
We didn't say anything to the healer, but instead were just chuckling in discord as the healer kept talking about the lack of dps in some areas while doing nothing himself. It was gold.
I really am at a loss for words with these people, but not in a completely negative way. I find these people hilarious and sometimes even a bit cute.
Way ahead of it.

I was running Expert, I had an idea I wanted to test out. I wanted to take an FC healer, but they were busy. Got Temple of the Fist, which is great because it has a pull perfect for what I wanted to test. After the first boss with the bird and bear and bazillion coblynns. I wanted to test out my survivability with Abyssal Drain and Quistis. I forgot about all my cooldowns except for TBN. But the healer really came through and kept my dumbass alive. You were awesome. Which makes this next part worse. It started storming outside IRL and while going through the last leg of the dungeon my power blinked. So if you're reading this awesome healer, sorry about that and hope you got replacement tank in a timely manner.
I was running Leveling DR as a healer to farm up some Cracked Clusters and ended up getting into a Doma Castle with a PLD using a non-upgraded Shire Sword but otherwise was in relatively on point ilvl gear. They stood still at the beginning for an extended period of time before running off to pull the first two groups of mobs.
No problem, sorta. The one pattern I noticed was that the only defensive cooldown they would use is Anticipation. No Rampart, no Bullwark, nothing at all. There was the occasional Convalescence. They continue to make large trash pulls as they can and I'm pretty much having to hit Cure II back-to-back to keep them up.
Then we get to each boss and he sort of just waits there for, I guess Flight or Fight to get off CD before engaging? Either way the MNK we're with gets a tad impatient on the first boss and pulls, I keep them up, then I get tank bustered and die. Thank heavens the SMN SC + Ressurections me and I'm back in the fight, though the PLD is taking huge amounts of damage regardless which is concerning.
The rest of the run is pretty much like that too with two added twists at the end. During the miniboss before the final boss the tank makes no effort to pick up the summoned adds so I'm pretty much just slamming heals everywhere to keep the party alive as hate bounces every which way.
The second twist is when the SMN D/C's during the final boss. I've never seen diagonally aimed saws before so that was an experience for me.
Still got through. I'm tempted to think the PLD was a bot since they would also take long wide runs around the arena and try to pull to pull the boss from behind rather unsuccessfully but who knows. Either way, I think that's probably my worst tanking experience in all of XIV to date.
Actually, probably my second worst tanking experience to date, when I think about it. *Grumbles about stupid WAR and DRG pair in AK back at 2.0*
I had a Sirensong run that nearly made me cry.
Single target black mage who could barely AoE with Fire 2.
A white mage that did not know the holy button existed until I told them.
A samurai who did not understand the second boss mechanics, and thus allowed himself to go up to 7 stacks of magic resist down. He nearly died three times, where it not for me covering him, Divine Veiling him, and using Intervention on him.
One of the really funny things? That Black Mage? Level 66, but it was their first time in Sirensong.
I've run into a tank that did that (in the process wasting every single Crit-Adlo I managed to get on him for the prepull), but I know he wasn't a bot because we were chatting throughout the dungeon. Just...Kept trying to pull from behind.
Yesterday I had an interesting run through Castrum Meridium. 3/4 party were sprouts, although I don't recall most of them being new, except maybe one or two people (would be lying though). It all goes well, until after the first boss both tanks somehow... stops. One was watching a CS and one simply didn't move. So mch started to pull things all the way to the second boss - and then even after both tanks were present. A little annoying, but tanks didn't say anything, I only recall one of the dps slapped the mch. Except of the party killing everything manually and never touching cannons, it goes the same way after - mch pulls, party somewhat catches up. But then we go to the main door to Livia where you have to turn off both alarms so the big group of giants goes away. The mch... runs forward, pulls the giants. The whole party goes after him. I stand there, horrified. /facepalm
The group wipes. One by one they are going dark until there is just me standing in the safety, piping that the group shouldn't be pulled. The mch says: "sorry, it had been a year". Welp. The party laughed it off at least - but then after the ship was destroyed they pulled all the walking giants and the rest of the trash to the boss, destroying most of the cannons in the process. There was only me and one more person who did the cannons when they respawned (although the other one led Livia back to the cannons, so they got destroyed again), the rest was smacking the boss doing zero dmg ;-;
Other than that it was kind of funny, I swear I made the weirdest noise when the mch pulled the giants group lol.
Beside the story - somehow it is customary lately nobody in DF groups greets each other. I always do and in 9 of 10 dungeons I'm only meeting silence in returnIt is a little disheartening - I'm used to that rarely anybody talks during dungeon, but how hard is it to type hi or at least /wave at the beginning? (I know with PS4 users it can be a problem while not having a keyboard, but like... all of them I met lately?)

Not defending the BLM since I don't know the situation, but since SB Fire II got nerfed and it is only higher DPS than Fire IV if there are 4 or more targets.
I know some pulls are only 3 targets so sometimes you might not see BLM's AoE there (I remember quite a few pulls with only 3 mobs in Sirensong), but not sure if you were doing double pulls on your tank or not so I'm just letting you know the info. I was confused at first as well that BLMs didn't seem to be using Fire II as much then I found out why. If he wasn't using it on 4+ targets no excuse at all though xD
Fire II only 80 potency = 240 potency for 3 targets
Fire IV is 260 potency so it beats it by 20
