Far too often yes. Even had some healers refuse to accept my verraise and wait for the other healer (if they were even up) to raise them

I hate that mentality. When I was doing runs of the 24man HW raids as my PLD, it was always "Why isn't the PLD MT?".

Yes, we have more defensive CDs. But in no way do we HAVE to be the MT. When I ran it as my DRK, I was usually MT because nobody else stepped up to the plate.

Heck I switched from PLD to WAR as my tank main just cuz I got bored, but nobody is gonna stop me from main tanking. if they have a problem they can take it up with my giant freaking battleaxe.

Well, this is probably going to sound like armchair designing, but I personally disagree with how SE has designed tanking in this game. I think having multiple tanks in a trial or raid is stupid because of these dumb aggro wars some tanks like to have. I also think tanking needs to be harder, because when you make it this easy, people think they're doing fine and some people watch Youtube or Netflix while playing the game. In my opinion, tanks should be punished hard for not using mitigation skills. I've written here ways SE could make tanking more fun.

It is a load of tripe. I just got dismissed for the second time in almost six months now. I was going back and finally cleaning up my GC stuff and had to do aurum vale. The first area is cleared no wipes with safe/medium pulls. lockmith , I die because the healer stood in the aoes and didn't fruit his goldlung. So take two and the samurai is downed and I manage to finish locksmith in shield oath which as you know hampers damage but is good for aggro. Next area going for a safe pull, nope they scatter and run around now we have almost 10 enemies on us and I get blamed. Spawn back in and finish the clear. The ogre type boss which again sacked the samurai with ton swing. Clear the next area and get to the last set of fruit and morb. I'm playing it safe as I can tell they are struggling. So I use what little range moves I have to knock the fruit out first and as soon as I pull the last morb before the last boss....kick. This behavior should be banable.

Let's compare and contrast the Trials Roulette I ran yesterday, and today. Both were run as PLD. Both dumped me into Thornmarch HM.

Yesterday's run: My co-tank is a sprout, level 61 PLD, with only two other classes unlocked, at 15 and 4. Full Shire gear. I popped Shield Oath out of habit, forgetting that you don't really need it for the first phase, and they popped Sword Oath.

I asked them if they wanted the tank moogles or king. No response.

Okay, maybe they're new, I thought. So I explained that each tank in the fight either takes the king or tank moogles, and repeated my question. Still no response.

I waited for a minute or so, and the DPS get impatient and tell me to pull. Still no response from the other PLD. Fine, I pulled, marking all the moogles as the fight went on.

Come king time, I threw up Flash on all the moogles, because even if this PLD didn't want to, I had a job to do.

Except... I saw a Provoke. This PLD, after refusing to communicate the most simple and basic of responses, tried to take the moogles off me. Key word being tried, because they failed to, and I ended up tanking all 3 moogles until the end.

Today's run: My co-tank is a WAR. THANK ALL THE GODS, not a sprout. When I asked which moogles they wanted, I got an immediate reply of "I'll take the small moogles".

It's funny how the smallest, simplest things can make you happy. When a simple response is all you want, ALL YOU COULD EVER WANT, it's just the most magical thing in the world. Come king time, I dragged the king away as the adds respawned, allowing the WAR to immediately grab their moogles and drag them in the complete opposite direction of me. Nobody died, nobody suffered, and the WAR even found time to explain a few mechanics to the newbie BRD and chat with me about mechanics.

I got 3 comms from both runs, but I would have gladly given them all up just to have that WAR as my co-tank for all the runs.

Healed 50/60 roulette and got snowcloak

Tank stated this was his first time in this dungeon.

Black Mage proceeded to be the tank and pull everything while the tank was beginning to stress out because he was just getting his foot in this dungeon.

The entire run was like that. Constantly attacking the Tank with trollish comments. It was just an all around bad situation.

I normally do not get involved with childish squabbles like this but I had to speak up and defend the tank while in the party.

No one. NO ONE should EVER treat anyone like that in a video game. It is childish behavior all around.

If you want to mass pull and you're a DPS...then ask the Tank. If the Tank says they are still new at this and never done this dungeon, then do not put on the tank hat and proceed to pull everything. Don't be that person.

We tried to dismiss him and I did confront him. Tank at end of game said he was so flustered he was too busy aggroing everything the BLM pulled that he didnt either have time or noticed to click yes. So it was even 50/50.

The BLM was confronted trust me. Then he pulled the usual aggressive comments and then stated I needed to dps more (this was while I was keeping everyone alive while getting holies, aeros, stones in there. That's usually the response from a poorly played dps when a healer calls them out...because they cannot think of anything else to retort with against a healer.

The BLM was just your quintessential poorly played DPS who thinks the dungeon evolves around him and then blows everything out of proportion when a criticism is mentioned to him

Did Ala Mhigo with my bf last night, him as PLD and me as WHM. We got a Red Mage and a Samurai as our dps and they promptly began running ahead of my bf and pulling for him. Not a good idea. I have disabilities and my bf and I work as a well coordinated team. We've done our fair share of all the expert dungeons and know how to get through them relatively quick. We do not need random rejects deciding they want to control the speed of the run. So we eventually get to a point where they pull and I'm far enough back (going to assume they're running sprint--tip: that only works if the whole party does it, people...) that one of them is dead before I've caught up and am fully healing. They get up and we continue.

This happens three more times during trash pulls throughout the run. No boss issues--again, we know the fights--just people in so much of a hurry that they end up tripping over their own feet. When we finally get to the end of the dungeon and are back out in Rhalgr's Reach my bf is being very quiet. I ask him what's bothering him and he tells me to look at the party chat. Turns out that the Samurai decided to take a parting shot before making a hasty retreat: "Tank and heals, delete your systems or, better yet, yourselves. This world does not need you."

Dude is lucky I did not see this in the dungeon (I only glance at chat when not moving / fighting or when I expect something important to be coming up--greetings or byes from a good group, discussion of how to fix things if a boss is causing trouble, etc.) because he would have been reported. Alas, you can only report for RMT normally and I'm not petty enough to place a false report against somebody. So I added him to blacklist, effectively "deleting" him from the possible pool of roulette people we will need to deal with in the future.

Bottom line is, the party was clearly mismatched and had vastly different methods for clearing the dungeon we were in. Nobody is happy when deaths and wipes happen--especially any healer worth a damn because that *always* reflects poorly on us, regardless of any reason it may have happened. But unlike my bf, who always freaks over stuff like this for an hour, I feel sorry for players who model this sort of behavior. Because if they are that acidic in a game, where they are suppose to be having fun, I wouldn't want to imagine what they're like offline where they will be stuck with their own company forever.

I really need to figure out a way to deal with this, because every time we have any form of a bad pug experience it can take days to get my bf to tank that again. Our fc is comprised of friends who mostly play WoW as an offshoot of a larger group (which I think is a bad idea, but don't wanna tell people since I try to keep the peace..) so 'run with fc' is not currently an answer. /sigh

Oh! And I think I've got a great name for this. Lets call it Roulette Rage. The only other place I've seen people get so pissed is when they're stuck behind a senior citizen going 30 mph on the highway.
