    Can Summoners Get Some Of These Combat Changes?

    Warning: This has absolutely nothing to do with making big summons or bringing in anything from any FF game. This is about the FFXIV Summoner's performance and ways to do more damage or make gameplay easier

    Right now Summoner is in a bad spot.. it's single-target damage is low and its AoE is honestly pretty terrible(In comparison to other jobs now) and completely reliant on stacks. Not only that but there are some pretty annoying gameplay things with Summoner that just seem overlooked or just ignored and with 4.0, they should really be changed. I made this list in order of what I think would be the most important change to make:

    1. Make Egis OGCD abilities instead of long casts
    Why is it that summoning a thing during battle is the worst thing you can ever do as a Summoner? Why does summoning an Egi hurt you so much? Right now, SMN is the only job that is hurt by doing it's job specialty. I propose that Egi summoning be made like 4.0 BRD songs. Instant. On the fly. No silly penalty that basically makes you question why you summoned in the first place. Like BRD, they could all have a separate cooldown maybe 30secs. That should be good enough.

    2. Give Summoner a GCD AoE attack or something
    With Bane being nerfed to death, Deathflare nerfed, Miasma II deleted, Aetherflows in the trance taken away, and Blizzard II taken away, SMN really has no hope of doing any AoE damage outside of one burst that'll take away all of your resources. Without stacks you can only cast DoTs on each enemy then Ruin. While other jobs get to spam AoE... if SMN could get an AoE like that it would help alot. A Painflare-like AoE

    3. Can the Aetherflow mechanic be changed somehow?
    I'm talking about how if you use Aetherflow with 1-3 trance stacks your Aetherflow goes *POOF*! This is extra dumb and punishes way too hard if you make the tiny mistake of pressing that button. I'm not asking to allow Aetherflow attacks in trance, I'm asking if the Aetherflow stacks could not go into oblivion if you press the button.

    4. Bring Sustain back
    Just...... just please.

    5. Increase Ruin III and IV potency
    Please? Even by just a little bit?

    6. Fix Enkindle interruption if pet is moved, stunned, or paralyzed
    I really, really hate it when you if press Enkindle, a 3min cooldown, and your pet either loses target that very second, paralyzed, moved, whatever happens, your pet completely forgets the Enkindle attack and it's just gone. This has happened way too many times to count and it seriously needs to be fixed.

    7. Increase Dreadwyrm Trance timer to 20 seconds
    Just a little change but I'm sure it could make a nice difference if it happened..





    I'm not hoping for every single one of these changes to happen but I really do hope at least one of these happen. Because any one of these can make such a big difference with how SMN plays right now. All the other classes can have their timers and potencies changed through patches, why cant SMN? SCH got an attack back and AST got new abilities to help with cards, why can't SMN? Either way SMN needs help.

    It's also so MP inefficient that you're better off just sitting their waiting for a better AoE to come back up.

    It's pretty funny how they gave scholar misasma II to improve their aoe dps but not summoner.

    Is this relevant for some reason? You're supposed to use your stacks as a Summoner and unlike a Scholar you'll always want to put your stacks into something that'll boost your damage.

    It is relevant because very often you have no stacks and no aetherflow ready. Especially if you just blew stacks on AoE. So at that point you're just using Ruin with Bio III + Miasma III. Remember you only get 3 stacks and Fester/Painflare/Energy Drain is only a 5sec cooldown. So there's a 45sec gap.

    But the actual point of the comment was to point out how SCH has a spammable Broil III at like 250 potency and SMN only has Ruin, 100 potency and a 15% chance to use Ruin IV which is only 200 potency...

    This was the one change that made me scratch my head and wonder just what the heck were they thinking. I've seen so many pet classes in so many different games but never a pet class that didn't have the ability to...ya know.../heal/ their pet with a designated pet only heal spell...until now >_>

    Just started leveling summoner myself (just hit 62) and I am not quite sure what the major problem is. I mean, I see the list but I feel like I was doing more than enough damage both single and AoE to be useful in the dungeon. The only thing I can agree with is the sustain considering it makes no sense to have a pet that you can't heal.
