This is just an outright disgusting thing to do. If you have any reasoning whatsoever, you tell the community. You appologise for it. You let them know what is going on and why. You don't sweep it under the carpet, totally ignore it, and just let it work itself out. Right after the release of an expansion too.

I can assure you, you will lose players for this. You have already lost a number. I have friends that have left because of this, and while I was not personally hit by the price increase, I was hit by the loss of friends that play the game. There is a lack of end game content in this game that gives reason to play each day, the reason I, and I'm sure many other people, play this game is for the social aspect of it. I will likely not be resubbing for this game, I like the game, but when you take away the fiends, there is no point for me.

I hope that other people that feel the same way will voice their opinion. This is not right, SE.

Most people are aware now of the situation, and being aware, I too as a costumer and a breathing person have to say my part.

First, the great disappointment, comminng from a company as Square Enix with years of experience on the market, do something disrespectful as this. To change prices disregarding the reality of other countries which your players belong is something that goes beyond just the business factor. It's disrespectful with the people itself. And as far as business goes, this move is against your services own user agreement, giving us no warning at all about those changes, which makes sense for us to call it, unfortunately a purely disrespectful greedy move, and an unwise one at best, because you just lost many costumers and their trust. [...] Their tactic to try and reflect this a bit? They go to other developers products related to them, that could go well, and demand more profit/greed measures for the end product.
Now that FFXIV has a new expansion still fresh, and it is one of the best MMOs for people to look on the market and with a good number of users, they turn the same tactic against it's player base. Which those that are still upset, but not going to stop using the service will have to be forced to pay an abusive price for a monthly subscription for a game. And do I, the one writting this, have another choice if not just having to stop?
