If so, then why the prices for other games have not changed in Steam? The sub price you were paying before was basically what would have been the full USD sub cost in 2014 so guessing there intention was originally that you pay the USD cost for a sub but for whatever reason the price didn't change with the exchange rate (maybe a steam limitation?).
It's weird that just steam was getting a discount but everywhere else in the world was paying full USD price.
SE is obviously the one wanting the change, the regional steam thing was probably an oversight on SE part but they allowed the price to stay as is even though they were making alot less money on subs then they would have over 2 years if the currencies hadn't changed so drastically.
Eventually they were going to bump up the price of a sub and they decided on the USD value maybe with enough outrage they will lower it but it's probably not going to go back to what it was.
I agree timing wasn't great though.
It's right. They had less profit on the Steam subscription. Sadly, the SE do not understand that the Steam platform spread the game more than it could spread on its own.SE is obviously the one wanting the change, the regional steam thing was probably an oversight on SE part but they allowed the price to stay as is even though they were making alot less money on subs then they would have over 2 years if the currencies hadn't changed so drastically.
