I'm assuring you that Belarus and Ukraine don't have 2000$ average salary. Neither do lots of other countries.
That's what I'm trying to say, yes.

@Velxeor You are delusional if you think that. My pay is €700 a month and I always had to pay full price. I never whined about that because that's what the game costs. If you can't afford it, you don't play a subscription based game. Gaming is a expensive hobby, whether you like it or not. A lot of countries which have even worse economy than Russia have always had to pay the full price. Guess what? We manage it because we learn to budget. If it's that big of a cost, and you really want to continue playing, then cut something else from your life that's not necessary. Like cigarettes or a few drinks. Yeah it sucks that you weren't notified, but the TOS states that only the renewable subscription price change will be reported. That one apparently hasn't changed. SE is well within their rights to adapt the price to be in line with everyone else.

Mine can't. What will you say now?
How? Russia is totally region blocked now, even for others Commonwealth of Independent States countries. We can't send Steam gifts to them, they can't send gifts to us.
And Steam doesn't really like people changing their regional settings out of the blue. (And why should we? It's kinda like cheating.)
€700, I would be a king with that here lol, Brazil's minimum wage would be 256,12 if it was on euro , try to live with that as your month salary and play the game xD, plus, would you buy SB, if you knew beforehand that the sub price would change? like someone said already, SE should have warned -at least- 30 days before the change ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But it was already confirmed in this thread by a Square Enix representative that it was a decision on their side, not Valve's.From the source I got, apparently FF14 isn't the only one to have been seen with this increase of price.
"Regional taxfees change, valve just adjusts (most likely by algorhytm). Publisher have to manualy set it back to the price they want it to be and loose the Cut they make.
Valve does not decrease their Profit, the Publisher has to or use other distribution channels"

I also contacted Square Enix's support, and they confirmed me the same thing: it's not on Valve's side or a mistake, it's a deliberate decision.

And they're only doing this for subscriptions. Their prices for the base game are still taking into account regional pricing (ARR+Stormblood is priced at 105,99BRL, rather than converting 60USD to BRL, which would be something around 200BRL). Other games that used regional pricing via Steam (such as Warframe) are still using their old prices. And as far as MMORPGs go, a lot of them are actually changing to regional pricing to gather more players (WoW is the biggest example). This was a huge step back for Square Enix.
We have a man in the team from Ukraine, he uses the Russian steam. How? Russia is totally region blocked now, even for others Commonwealth of Independent States countries. We can't send Steam gifts to them, they can't send gifts to us.
