Steam payment HUGE price increase!

In early 2014 1USD was about 30 rub and today it's 58 rub so your money is worth half as much but sub cost was still the same.

It sucks if you can't afford it but it makes sense for SE to be asking for more, what surpises me is it took this long to get adjusted.

Players from Ukraine, for example (I really doubt that salaries there are bigger than Russian ones) were paying the standard cost from the start.
I agree that making such price changes without notification is a bad move, and doing this after SB release is even worse, and not fair at all.
But still.

At the minute, players from Ukraine could use the Russian Steam and get a Russian regional subscription, now Ukraine does not have this

The sub price you were paying before was basically what would have been the full USD sub cost in 2014 so guessing there intention was originally that you pay the USD cost for a sub but for whatever reason the price didn't change with the exchange rate (maybe a steam limitation?).

It's weird that just steam was getting a discount but everywhere else in the world was paying full USD price.

I have yet to confirm sources, but apparently FF14 might have not been the only steam title to get hit buy this. Still waiting on confirmation though.

so if that gets confirmed is it safe to assume that it's steam who did the price change? from my point of view if the price change was done by square wouldn't make sense that mogstation sub would've increased also?

Regardless it's in their right to ask for more money based on current market conditions instead of one that is 2 years old.

Not disagreeing that a lower cost might be better for you guys but expecting it to be the same as it was is unrealistic SE is a business first and foremost.

steam has regional price for ingame everywhere. thats the point of using steam instead of original EU game. Nothing else.
