That's a bit woah XD how about something more simple, like Raen background. During X era, Keepers moved to the north due to their more secluded natured by where caught in the Garlemald technological revolution. Some entered in their ranks while try to survive in the more harsh Ilsabard areas.

I can see a possible "new Scion friend" being male and having some rivalmance with Thancred maybe? would be fun!

Maybe its me, although I can so see how Y'shtola and Thancred make a cute couple, but I really never got that vibe off of them. There was some playful shots at one another but that always came off more as friends.
