    Just be sure what kind of difficulty you want because with the current system the only way of making it "interesting" is by forcing RNG or/and by removing Omni-crafter gear (outside leveling gear) and forcing HQ materials in order to HQ anything. I said this a lot of times, crafting is a math problem once you know the formula is a piece of cake, you can spice with RNG for sure, but no everyone enjoy that.

    Also, the vibe I got from this and similars is more in the line: I don't like that crafting is so accessible now, but perhaps I'm wrong. Anyway, this exclusivity will come later on for sure.

    Note: I have to add that so far SE has put less effort in skins this expansion, leveling gear for DoH/DoL doesn't have unique skins for example.

    I was really disappointed that there is no real progression for dedicated crafters/gatherers right now. Most of us are far beyond the 300 gear stats. At least if we could have class-specific glamour for our 290 sets...

    Just do interesting things like:

    All touches have a 100% hit rate. Inner quiet maxes at 8.

    Manipulation and Manipulation II unavailable.

    Waste not and Waste not II reduce durability loss to .25. Using touches reduces durability by 20 instead of 10.

    Make it more like puzzles. xD

    Random stuff to up the difficulty, causing you to change up your rotation.

    I expected this the moment I saw how easy Stormblood crafting is. The devs don't want it to be such a daunting task for newer crafters to dabble with. Back with Heavensward, you had to overmeld for the crafted gear to come even remotely close. That turned many people away, especially since materia are so damn expensive. Which brings me to what I'm far more annoyed by: the lack of means to acquire Grade VI materia. Battle jobs are practically gift wrapped theirs yet we have to go through the boring grind of mass production, then pray RNG doesn't hate us. Either make Spiritbonding less tedious or let us acquire materia some other way-- perhaps via the currently worthless Yellow Scrips.

    This is my opinion too... For a hardcore crafter that craft around 24/7 since 2.0 until end of HW, I'm very disappointed how SB crafting became so easy... That's good thing for new ones, but for "old", it's very frustrating >.<

Oh forgot say , specialist no more needed for craft new gear now its only 20 Control 20 Craftmanship and 15 CP oh its hard real .

    Crafting is always going to be formulaic so long as the binary "did you craft it" and "did you HQ it" are the only metrics for creating an item.

    People spent all of ARR complaining that Crafting was too hard, so Square Enix nerfed it.
    The people spend all of HW complaining that Crafting was too hard, so Square Enix nerfed it some more.
    Now the most common question is "What's the macro I need to use to HQ this craft?"

    Heck now 80% of the crafters in the game just copy someone elses macros. The other 19% of the crafters in the game meme about some kind of "Roth's Rotation" and don't use any of the Stormblood skills.

    I bet after more 2 years of stormblood, there will only be a handful of people who do something other than follow someone else's macro.

    EDIT: That being said I've had a lot of fun in 4.05 selling stacks of materia and aethersands to a bunch of new bagholders wasting their money on overmelds.

    The latter half of HW made it pretty clear that reaching the min requirement for recipes would allow for a rather straightforward rotation to HQ it, so I'm not sure why this surprises you.

    That's because the white lvl 70 gear is only 10 ilvls below the yellow scrip gear, just like the first set of red scrip gear was only 10 ilvls above the crafted AF sets.

    They tried experimenting with crafting at the start of 3.0, and completely destroyed the DoH playerbase. And didn't they add two glamour sets up to this point? The Taoist stuff and the Ao Dai stuff.
