Pretty much this, hence why I'd rather see the Ixion fate removed altogether until SE can figure out how to properly implement it without ravaging a whole instance.This is just a joke now and annoys me to no end. All I want is the achievement but currently it is impossible to even get into the area when it spawns so you would have to literally just waste your time by sitting there if you want to be part of it. The problem is that the solution to this is that all the people camping it will eventually have what they need and then when you can actually get in it will be extremely hard to do because so few people are there. This is just extremely poor design period. Great idea, horrible implementation.

It is not fun getting in there, having the zone crash because too many people are in the zone, you get disconnected then when you try get back in, you are kicked out of the zone and can't get back. If you are lucky enough to actually fight it, it dies too fast so it is hard to get anything above bronze.
Maybe ixion be ok if they where not running the game on hardware/coding that is 10 years old.

Maybe dont create such a FATE next time, if you dont know your own server limits.
I agree. What's the reasoning behind this kind of design if the servers can't handle the sheer amount of players? I also disconnected right when Ixion was at 1% health. Why don't you get a reward if you participated in the fate the whole time, disconnect and come right back within a minute?This game with its crappy servers going to piss me off slowly. I had the "joy" of experiencing this FATE for a first time yesterday. The lag was insane. I kept seeing d/c icons and I couldn't tell if I was attacking or what. I think the only reason I didn't d/c was because I was ranged dps. Got bronze, like most people.![]()
I have no idea what to suggest about improving it. Maybe make it spawn more frequently.

A lot more spawns for a few days would solve this problem nearly overnight. And seeing as most people will still be getting bronze anyhow it would still require the effort. It's a great suggestion and solution. And easy.
With the mass of people in this area at this point in time and with most of them being the new DPS classes, the setup definitely seems tweak worthy in line with your suggestion, to emphasize a more enjoyable experience hunting this down right now.

Someone suggested having it be able to spawn in different zones, like with Odin being able to spawn anywhere in the Shroud. Perhaps Ixion could be spawnable in The Lochs, The Peaks, or The Fringes? Spread them out across more zones? May also help with congestion too as people aren't likely to camp one zone AFAIK. Actually, I wouldn't recommend that. Make it so bronze awards 1 horn, silver awards 2, and gold 3. That way you can progress even if you get bronze, that will help get the flow going.

White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
ppl are only there for the mount period. change the cost of the mount and be done with it.



Piggy backing off these two replies. Tanks only need to use enmity combo. Healers only need to hit once, then regen and overheal. DPS need to use their optimal rotations and try to avoid using enmity reducing skills (like LD). Also, the person who uses stygian ash will always get full credit (unsure of this myself, never gotten the item and it's still fairly expensive).
People are voicing these things like they are recent problems. When Behemoth and Odin first spawned, these issues were present then. The more people around, the harder it is to gain high contribution; you're more likely to run into everyone getting middling contribution. This can be seen continuing on hunts, Coeurlregina, Diadem version 1 and now Ixion.
