I understand they're a little less special if they're common, but some people just don't have the 5 mil to spend on a weapon and have bad luck with drops.
I think the point he is trying to make is that, the items have a heavy investment to make but can be easily obtained by other means and providing materials to produce rather than obtain a fully crafted item is a better choice; crafters can still provide a service without substantial loss and still give a way for the community players to obtain said item either through commission work from a crafter or buying on the MB for cheaper than before PotD.

Making them more available than the materials needed to make is a problem, which it should be the other way around. At least for some recipes.
