Same, it's much more likely that we're the ones DDOSing the servers by trying to play, rather than a group of evil nerds getting revenge on SE...while no one claims responsibility for it, despite kneecapping a huge MMO.
Yeah if it was DDOS we would know who was behind it by now. This is a Server problem on SE's end. PR gonna PR and damage control though.
No, we wouldn't know who it was unless they were a reasonably large group who happily claimed responsibility. If it's some script kiddy we will likely never know.
Doesn't feel like DDOs at all the servers have been pretty bad since the launch of SB there's still congestion issues, lagging out during big FATEs, people reporting having over 300+ ping on a good day. Feels more like the servers themselves rather then some DDOs attack.
So you're saying that if a lone script kiddie managed to take down one of the most popular MMOs nowadays and cause butthurt amongst hundreds of thousands of players, they WOULDN'T make a twitter account with some edgy name just to brag about how easy it was to stop a weeb catgirl game? I find that much less likely than SE managed to screw up hardcore during the move and is struggling to cover it up by claiming it's a malevolent DDOS when, in fact, they just didn't expect the normal expac playerbase to be so large.
If it was the unexpectedly large playerbase for the expansion, it would have been all day every day on the weekends, where it didnt happen at all, at least this past weekend, and not at 3PM EDT on a workday. So you're saying that if a lone script kiddie managed to take down one of the most popular MMOs nowadays and cause butthurt amongst hundreds of thousands of players, they WOULDN'T make a twitter account with some edgy name just to brag about how easy it was to stop a weeb catgirl game? Well, they got data about pre-orders AND subscriptions. This isn't the 90s. They can get a report on that whenever they want. Plus, they actually moved servers because the previous ones were at it's limit. So your point makes no sense at all. It's a DDoS.So you're saying that if a lone script kiddie managed to take down one of the most popular MMOs nowadays and cause butthurt amongst hundreds of thousands of players, they WOULDN'T make a twitter account with some edgy name just to brag about how easy it was to stop a weeb catgirl game? Yes, during work hours on a weekday is when the servers cant handle it. Not during the weekends when everyone is off work and playing, when the servers have no issues. Yep, definitely.
