My sympathies to you. This should have been managed much more efficiently. I doubt the situation will be remedied anytime soon, sadly =/
Because SE is retarded. It's actually a piece of evidence that suggests SE doesn't really have solid 'account-level' infrastructure. There are other tell-tale ones, too, like Black List / Friend List entries not being account-based, or Housing not being limited by account. Why on earth they'd have designed the game this way, I cannot say, but there are several large headaches going back years that would appear to be easily solved by account-level controls. This is just one of the latest.
Edit for Additional Response:
Wow, really? F*cking ridiculous.
Let's review the past few months. First, SE stupidly relocated their NA data centre across an entire continent, which created unnecessary latency strain on many 'fringe' location players, such as those in the EU. Had they moved it to a central location like Chicago, Dallas, or even Denver, the strain on EU players wouldn't have been so severe. To compensate for this decision, they added Omega to the Chaos Data Center and opened up transfers - fine and dandy, so far. But they made two more mistakes before this process started: (1) ignored the blatant need for a "Free Company Transfer" system, and (2) obviously whiffed on their estimates of how many people would seek to migrate to the Chaos Data Center (numbers likely boosted by East Coast players who are roughly between Chaos and the new California location).
The net result of all this is that the server filled up quickly, and FC members got lost in the shuffle. This was bound to happen from the start, because SE barely paused to think about what they were doing and the problems it would create. They took the easy way out.
So, no, the OP doesn't appear to be expecting "VIP" treatment or anything else in your hyperbolic nonsense. Rather, they seem to be frustrated that the transfer process wasn't reasonably thought-out. They seem frustrated that the transfer window closed before character creation even opened up, and wasn't reopened promptly when new characters could be created. They seem frustrated that they were screwed over socially because they took a vacation. None of those frustrations are unreasonable, and declaring that the situation is the OP's own fault is ridiculous.
