I've been separated from my friends without any notice

Hello, I'm from NA server, but was on EU FC.
When Omega was first announced, the FC decided to move to it once it will be up. Now because SE didn't mention any end day for transferring, I went on vacation without worries thinking I can just join when I'm back... And as you could guess, when I got back I was faced with a transfer block which effectively separated me from my FC and pretty much all the friends I play with. To top it off, character creations are still being possible, while SE blocking transfers.
That means that while peoples' alts are being created for the sole purpose of leveling up to 30, for the free days reward, on their main (And quit that alt afterwards); us, long-term players, can't join with their old friends and FC (without any prior notice of transfers being disabled).

If and end date for the transfers would have been mentioned, I'd plan my vacation differently and/or would make sure to have access to a PC by that date.

Now I'm stuck without friends and without an FC.
Please SE, you let people create new characters already, so why not reverse the situation- disable creations but allow transfers? That makes much more sense to me, unless I'm missing something.

No, I don't mean the 90 day restriction of transferring from Omega to another server.
I mean the restriction of transferring from one server to Omega, which was not announced before the restriction took effect as far as I know.

He's talking about how Omega filled up so SE temporarily suspended character transfers to Omega.

While it sucks that you did not have a time notice, the original notice for Omega and other congestion related notices said that these things are dynamic and are until the populations grow and stabilize. Omega is currently in an odd state for being new and having lots of characters on it already. The suspension of transfers vs creating new characters is probably also an attempt to allow the economy to stabilize

If character creation is possible then free transfers should be possible and vice versa. Either both are allowed or neither is, anything else is just bad customer service. It is ridiculous that people are still allowed to make throwaway alts on the server when there are people wanting to join their friends. I hope this is resolved soon.

You can't create characters in Omega though. Not at least before this maintenance.
The real question is: if you already have a character on a server, why can't you create another one? lol

Yeah, no kidding. It's not like I can play both of those characters at once. I just want alts on Balmung.

More than 10 days have passed and transfer are still blocked, while character creation isn't (as of today I saw circle icon on Omega for char creation).

And I stay blocked from my FC and friends.

Really even 24 hours notice before the actual block of transfers would suffice.
I don't think its an unreasonable request.

The problem with that is that then people would use that for one last mad scramble before the servers close, meaning they could still end up overcapacity (See: Balmung). It sucks, but that's why they can't give 24 hours notice.
