Nope, we literally are paying for their mistakes in your example. And on top of it, you would suggest they take it away, so that is real money, wasted in even quicker order, making the Mogstation even shadier than it already is.I think they could take a page out of ESO's book and only offer unique housing as a one-time fee on Mog Station. Yes, they messed up the idea that there would be enough houses for everyone with the current ward system. And it seems they have difficulty adding more wards - and I agree that it seems like we'd be "paying for their mistakes", but hear me out -- .
That could work. An entirely different ward for mogstation. For those truly desperate to have a house.
People don't know how to take criticism anymore, and bad play is rewarded with with a coddling mentality. Yes, this is a casual game for the most part - that doesn't mean people need to walk on eggshells in fear of getting reported for pointing out things. This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.
No.As a lot of players have been playing for years without getting a shot at getting a house (myself included) and as it is the cause for a lot of grief in the playerbase.
Why not make it possible to buy a housing plot from the MogStation?
Note: I'm not suggesting that people paying real life cash would get the existing plots, but that the funds coming from people purchasing a plot from the Mogstation could pay back the cost of making more wards and more server space and eventually overturn a good profit for SE.
I know it's more complicated than that, but why not capitalize on something that is in high demand? We don't mind paying for an in game wedding, why not an in game house?
The Mog Station is not a Kickstarter campaign. It is not "funding development" for FFXIV. That's what our monthly subscription and expansion purchases do (while also generating profits for SE). The Mog Station is, rather, an additional revenue stream that SE has tacked onto FFXIV for the purpose of increasing their profits. That's it. They realized that people would pay for the equivalent of MMO trinkets like emotes or outfits, and set out to market a number of them to draw in more money. Plain and simple.
I want to emphasize this because it's important to realize that if housing plots were put on the Mog Station, the money you spend on them would not primarily go toward new Wards - it would go to SE's profit line. Worse still, it would further a very troubling trend of the dev team's f*ck-ups being solved in a way that essentially extorts money from their player base. They already took a big step down this path with the story-jump potion, which "fixed" the development team's ridiculously stupid decision to create a continuous storyline across multiple expansions rather than distinct storylines. I'd hate for the same approach to be taken for housing. Half-assed design should not be solved by passing on the cost of fixing it to the consumer, and the consumer certainly shouldn't be ASKING for this to be the outcome.
If it was easy as just adding wards don't you think they would have done it by now after the server relocation?
Thanks but no, it is out of question I pay for such... thing.
The current housing is one reason why I consider leaving the game (I say one, not the). Such idea would just make me leave the game for sure and definitly.
When they launched ARR and talked about housing, we were several players to have hope they add floating island as it is in Wildstar. When they talked it would be for FC, the current system was acceptable. When they oppened to individual, we started to wonder where they plan to go. Your idea is just the perfect nightmare.
We wish something inspired by Wildstar, Black Desert (for the global access, not the method of access), not something worse, something for which we should pay extra fees.
