I mean, you can try to play revisionist history all you want, but that doesn't make what you say true by any means.
I've also had no issues with S ranks or heavily congested zones. I also never once DC'd during Odin spawns at 2.0 launch on Balmung. But I guess that doesn't count either.
Points at comcast, they received the name comcrap for a reason.
Obviously never entered Rhalgr's Reach after the flood gates of MSQ opened. I find it hard to listen to anything you say when you have no idea what the actual topic of this thread is.
The topic is about SE's servers, which has nothing to do with the issue they experienced. Also, by the time I made it to Rhalgr's Reach, I was on Mateus, and it was fine for me :P
clearly stated what the OP meant, just because you are choosing to ignore it for the sake of your argument does not make it true.
but it is true?? The zone is literally inaccessible when Ixion is up. Just like 2.0 and Odin.
being blind has its benefits?
Bottom line, I have played far OLDER mmo's with far far more people in zones than FFXIV's zones can handle. When did this become acceptable again??? (and before you try to say "but back then mmo's were less on a computer, my computer was also "back then")

So you have no experience with the topic at hand and are making assumptions or pretending the issues don't exist.
Yeah I have to agree, these server excuses are getting old really fast and it makes me feel like I'm playing on a server that's about to hit the bucket at any moment.
You can't expect a company to buy extremely powerful servers that could handle a heavy load of players on the same place, all of that just for a few minutes a day in a single place, which will likely involves less and less players as time passes. It'd be a huge waste of ressources 99% of the time.
Then they have to find a better solution. Create a clone backup instance as soon as the first one hits maximum load, or remove the time required to camp and get reward stripping an MMO feature out of the game because of a server problem. You can't expect a company to buy extremely powerful servers that could handle a heavy load of players on the same place, all of that just for a few minutes a day in a single place, which will likely involves less and less players as time passes. I dealt with this kind of problems for a long time, and now I'm tired.
EDIT: For all the people claiming that is an user problem, if the game doesn't let me get into the area because of congestion, its not my fault. Furthermore, because of work I have a quite powerful internet connection, and have to deal with lag DCs in every occasion like that.
