My gripe is literally just with the face shape, I guess. Otherwise I'd be up for playing one.

it's the fem elezen's lack of facial structure that I dislike. Her head looks like a pingpong ball, yet somehow her face is flat?

Something akin this. And the nose shapes don't favor them either.

If we could at least make them look like Ysayle. Or like what Alisae seems to be coming to be. I honestly don't have a clue why don't they have actually long hair styles... most ones they have look ridiculous because they're as short as can be. Making the whole face shape thing worse.

Edit: Also, having long hairs would probably ease the whole "small head long neck/body proportions" thing, although I personally am not bothered by it.

I like my Elezen. It took me a lot of Fantasias to get here. A lot of Fantasias. I've posted in almost every show your character thread multiple times. Except Lala, I was a Lala for a grand total of two hours. But on topic, the neck thing never bothered me. I think people are blowing it out of proportion.

All races have gear that makes them look weird. Elezens aren't alone with this. There are some gear that makes Roegadyn or Lalafell look weird. The Horns on Au Ra ruining a lot of head glamour. Tails clipping through gear. Elezens is the one race people just want to mess with its design despite other races having flaws, too. I'm fine with sliders, but the idea with them is to make them way different from your standard Hyur, who are the base race. I'm all for adding more customization to all races, but the constant dumping on other races does get annoying, especially when a new thread of a tired theme pops up every now and then. I don't have to read them, but I always do in case they bring up a good point, but it usually isn't. Just another race bash thread.

Whats wrong with you? How is someone bringing up the fact that he'd like to play one but feels bothered by their proportion comparable to race bashing??
I completely agree with him. I love elezens but i just get tired of them after some time cos...at some point the proportions just bother me too much.

But, I really don't think thickening them up, enlargimg their head, or performing major skeleton modifications will do anything but make all the current Elezan players angry.

please stop assuming that every elezen is going to be angry. the majority of people I know who are playing elezen or did play elezen before arent completely happy with the female elezens either.
Tbh i think male elezens absolutely need nothing changed about them. Its just the females. And I literally know no one who says "yo I play fem elezen cos Im into long necks and small heads".
They play them cos they like their beautiful faces and long legs, usually. And, ya know, the ears.

IMO the majority counts...and if the majority would like to see those adjustments (and Im pretty sure they do),it should be done.

neck too long. predominantly so on females. running animations look horrendous. females do have beautiful faces though.

if you look at Falis character, the upside down acorn shape chin thing makes the head look skinnier. their faces are way skinny or something lol.

please do not judge my character based on my lodestone profile. I actually fantasia'd once specifically to change the jaw option because this one would make the face look bigger
and make the body proportions look less weird. It doesnt look weird in the game. The head looked way smaller and skinnier with another jaw option in the game...which was even worse.

I never did. At no point did I imply that.

What I DID imply is changing Elezen in some fundamental manner would upset a -portion- of their players, and I dare imply, a complete waste of time and dev resources.

I'm not sure if a few people on the forums thinking they are too stick figure-like is enough of a portion of players to justify remaking an entire race.

Roegadames are horribly unpopular despite having more "realistic" propotions for what they are. Should we make them super blocky with the funny animations like the males Roes, or shrink them to cute girls??

I don't know how to break it to you guys but Elezen aren't the human analogues. They aren't meant to be, never were meant to be, either. So, they won't look exactly like humans do. That doesn't equal bad design.

kinda curious as to which are the "correct" hairstyles lol. I flip between the elezen short braids, the elezen bob with pulled back bangs, and aymeric's hair.

It's down to preference rather than being correct. However any hairstyle that adds volume at the sides of the head or the top of the scale helps give the illusion of a more proportionate head. Generally it's the longer hair styles as these tend to do both, but all the ones you mentioned also give that illusion.

I think Elezens are the best race in the game, clearly, both male and female. I like that their proportions are different than normal. I like my boy's awkward dance and "bad run" (is it really bad? I run like this irl so I don't get what is wrong with it). I like making jokes with friends when we pass a dhamael that he's my second cousin on my mother's side. If I wanted to play a race that didn't have the long neck and limbs, I would play... literally anything else.

Last thing we need is more stubby men and generic waifus.

The animations could be better, but I like the look of them overall. It takes a while getting used to it, but I haven't felt the need to fantasia since the freebie one in ARR for 1.x players.

I still find it hilarious to hear the Dhalmel jokes though, so that's something.

They have a beautiful face, tall and slender bodies. They look good in both cloth and armor.

Males look fine. Females on the other hand, have smaller heads and somewhat flat. It is the reason that their necks look that long.

Running animations are not the best in the game.

Still, they are my favorite race.
