Yeah I mentioned in another thread, it's not that I don't see the faces work in concept, it's that they look really poorly executed. And the textures don't help either: Highlander faces seem to always look better in dark skin tones because it covers the weird blurry "spots-that-look-like-black-freckles-maybe?".

Edit: I guess they look more like a rugged (or rather, textured) skin attempt, but regardless, there should be an option, and since it's blurry/pixelized it just looks like you're dirty in light skintones imho.

So to throw my opinion into the mix here, I'd never play the game again if they changed the proportions or the overall feel of the animations of the Elezen, of either gender. I like the way they look because irl I'm pretty much proportioned in the same way as an Elezen, even down to having a long neck myself. Having lived my life being this tall, it's extremely easy for me to be immersed by the animations feel, they get so much right about the movement. Yes, they're kinda awkward, but that kind of awkwardness is something that I've lived with for years, and is normal for being as tall and proportioned like I am.

I assume that the majority of people that want the Elezen changed aren't the very tall people that can empathize with the feel of the Elezen, instead they're probably around average or below average height people that just want a generically "tall" but not heavily muscled like the Roe or even the Highlanders are. That I think would be a massive mistake, to do so would wholly remove the realistic body movement of the Elezen and instead make it into almost a cartoonish parody of what an average person thinks a tall person moves like. I also don't think that the proportions would be correct, long necks are natural to taller people, and to "correct" that by making the neck shorter and the head larger would immediately strike a person as deeply unsettling. Even to a smaller degree than you may think, they would look like bobble-heads of Elezen rather than actual people. So I can't help but say never to the idea of the Nu-Elezen, I could never feel like I do about the current Elezen, and I hope SE continues to ignore the call for "fixing" the Elezen.

Okay, okay, enough with the long winded post about how I can really engage with the Elezen in their current form and opposing the Nu-Elezen, instead I'll give a few pointers on Elezen women fashion I've discovered over my time playing. Avoid shoulder pads whenever possible, by and large the "small headed" problem of the Elezen is that people put them in huge shouldered armor that I feel is scaled not for the overall proportions of the Elezen but instead like they're just proportioned to the torso by itself in a vacuum. Thigh boots look very good on Elezen in comparison to just regular shoes, or shorter boots, they use up the real estate of the leg very well. If you aren't doing thigh highs, avoid boots that are too thick around the leg or don't have anything to mitigate that sudden cut off with cuffs or something else that obscures the sudden boot width -> leg width problem. Those are about the only "rules" I've discovered when it comes to making a decent outfit for an Elezen.

I didn't mean to write this much about Elezen when I started but here we are, hopefully that this whole thing explains why I love the current Elezen and am completely opposed to changing the race.

I love male Elezen. I always itch to change back into one.

Yes they've always seemed off, I love Elvaans and I wanted to be an Elezen but I just couldn't get past the small head and broad shoulders on females. I was hoping AuRas would be designed according to the initial concepts, with tall bodies but they came out being smaller than Miqo'tes so Hyur it is for me. I just wanted a tall elegant race.

Elezen are pretty fabulous. The origins of their design back as Elvaan in XI was really interesting. They look great in their own right and while not fitting my aesthetic, I have full appreciation when seeing one.

Please, no. I don't WANT to look like a tall hyur with pointy ears, even thought that's seemingly what all non-elezen want. We look unique and I'd like to keep it that way. Why is it bad the proportions are weird? We're not hyur, that's the point. The races are already really similar, please let's not make them more so.

Our proportions are perfect - for Elezen. Make and female. Wouldn't say no to more face and hair options but the proportions are just right. I don't ever want to play a Hyur.

To echo some sentiments already expressed by others, if Elezeen are not to your liking there are already five other races to choose from. I'm all for adding new options (fixing the lack of face options some races and genders have would be a good start), but to change after years what some of us love would do nothing but stir up bad blood, even if the change is preferred by a majority. Every race doesn't have to be appealing to the majority, some can and should be for more niche groups.

    Dhalmel...Jhammel...Elezen.
    Same Ancestors.
SE should just give Dhalmel Mount to all Elezen.

I can live with the long neck. I can live with the running animation. But seriously, I could put a Lalafell under each arm and there would still be place for another one. Why are the arms so far away from my body? Is it, so I can run and fly like a bird in a later expansion or..? D:
