I would agree with you... if SE didn't bake dps tools in to our jobs after 3.0. in 2.x it was very much a "Tank does tanky things" but in 3.0 they added skills like Goring blade, Royal Authority and Fell cleave. now 2 years later and we still get mostly DPS oritented skills moving up to 70 (Bloodspiller, Holy spirit) so the jobs are DESIGNED around doing extra dmg.

Let me put it this way; in some other MMOs tanks have to constantly fight for agro 24/7 and mitigate as much as they can (instead of just tank busters). But for a system like this all of the tanks need to be redesigned, but so would enmity and every single fight in the game after lvl 50. So basically what SE has done with 4.0 is reduce our overall damage with how stats work... but not actually removing the dps skills that forced this playstyle in the first place. SE either needs to embrace the tank dps meta OR they're going to need to spend a lot of time and money redesigning tanks like i mentioned earlier.
