Three Jobs
Two Jobs Preferred, Buff Third.
One Job Preferred, Nerf That One.
If all three healers are viable, but one is strongly preferred, the special one needs to be brought down to match.

Not saying they did it right, but this was specifically mentioned back before 4.0 that SCH was going to get looked at. We expected some changes, but what we got was...Special.
Did they really for AST? Because SCH would like to talk some about nerfed damage.
Source? Because the comment I remember was that they wanted to keep SCH's power right about where it was, and bring WHM/AST up to 3.x SCH's level.

Either way, we can see what exactly happened when they look at it, now can't we? Maybe they did bring WHM/AST up, but they ground SCH down in the process.

Did you ever compare healer damage? SCH and AST had about the SAME DPS Single-Target back to Heavensward.
Did you ever check fflogs?
Malefic 3 is the same potency Malefic 2 used to be (with cleric stance).
Did you actually see how much is the potency of Broil 2/Stone 4?
WHM easily OUT DPS AST by doing around 500-600 dps more.
SCH OUT DPS AST by doing 400-500 more DPS.
And for all those whm who wants a kind of utility, go learn how to dps, your dps was always amazing and now even more, stop wanting utility just to help your party while you are AFKing/Overhealing ALL THE TIME.

You think WHM DPS advantage is comparable to buffing the DPS of all the actual DPSers in the group (who are doing far, far more than any healer)? That's... interesting. I'd love to find all these raid groups who would trade Balance for more Stone 4.Did you ever compare healer damage? SCH and AST had about the SAME DPS Single-Target back to Heavensward.

If you were a good WHM, then yes.
Calculating potency over 2 minutes assuming a 2 second GDC.Did you ever compare healer damage? SCH and AST had about the SAME DPS Single-Target back to Heavensward.

Combust II: 500pot/30secs = 2,000pot/2mins
Stellar Detonation: 200pot/60secs = 400pot/2mins
60GCDs/2mins - 4GCD/2mins (from casting Combust II) = 56GCD/2mins for Malefic III
Malefic III: 220pot/2secs x 56GCDs = 12,320pot/2mins
TOTAL: 14,720pot/2mins
Bio II: 350pot/30secs = 1,400pot/2mins
Miasma: 300pot/24secs = 1,500pot/2mins
Shadow Flare: 250pot/60secs = 500pot/2mins
60GCDs/2mins - 8GCD/2mins (from casting Combust II) = 52GCD/2mins for Broil II
Broil II: 230pot/2secs x 52 GCDs = 11,960pot/2mins
TOTAL: 15,360
So Sch doesn't even do 5% more damage than Ast now...
So unless the Scholar is doing around 10,000 DPS a Scholar shouldn't be beating Ast by 500 DPS if they have equal DPS time.
Not that they even SHOULD do even remotely in the same ballpark due to Balance.
