Noct AST is ridiculous right now. And WHM barely has higher HPS, and personal DPS pales in comparison to group DPS. Balance gives more group DPS than WHM could even hope for.
And have you even tries the Confession system? I've said it before and I'll say it again. Plentary Indulgence is literal trash.
People always complain about balance. Iand I'm wondering do people play AST because that ish is so RNG you would be lucky to get balance maybe twice in one run...the whole class is RNG so yes there is benefit when RNG is in your favorite...Noct AST is ridiculous right now. Sorry if I seem annoyed but AST has come a long way from being complete trash, and I've been playing it since and it's in a really good place right now and you people complaining about it like always is going to revert it back to 3.0 AST so that we can go back to WHM/SCH PF groups and us AST healers are left out because once again we are trash so go advocate to buff your own damn healer and leave AST alone
Something I'll never understand is that when balance was a flat 10% buff (aoe 5% for the party), everyone crunched the numbers and said the DPS increase was negligible - that AST wasn't worth taking over WHM/SCH. The buff to balance suddenly made them overpowered...so if they nerf it back to the way it was, the buffs will no longer be worth it.
I'm fine with them adjusting our healing potencies or giving the other healers some better buffs. But reducing the potencies on our cards will just put us back where we started.
While the Balance needs nerfing, the rest of the class is perfectly fine. Scholar absolutely needs to be looked at though.

And okay, let's talk about RNG. According to you since Balance is RNG-locked it should be quite powerful, correct? Alright, so why is PI/Confession stacks so lackluster? You only have a 20% chance of getting a Confession stack... as a tank heal (which is what it is 99% of the time going to be used as) it's pathetic. At one stack it heals less than Cure. Even trying to get it on other allies is generally inefficient and next to impossible.

I play all three healers and SCH is definitely lacking something. The nerf to Embrace really didn't have to happen, Fey Union is crap because it leaves us alone with lolPhysick AND takes forever to charge anyway. SCH needs something like Physick II with some gimmick attached to it, I don't get why it is the only healer with just one basic heal. No, Lustrate doesn't count and it sucks compared to Cure/Benefic II.
WHM is completely fine and a lot of fun to play, I don't get all the hate honestly. It is clearly the raw power, DPS oriented healer. Lilies ARE useful if you know what the hell you're doing, and together with Thin Air and Presence of Mind you can spam a lot of stuff in a short time while providing all the necessary healing without running out of MP.
AST is my favorite and I think it doesn't need anything else. Balance is fine, leave it alone.
I agree that WHM and SCH should be buffed. WHM could be fixed just by fixing its useless Lily/Benediction mechanics (which are cool concepts, by the way, just useless with their current system). SCH needs some serious work though.
The reason I'd rather AST not be nerfed has little to do with being an AST main and more to do with enjoying unconventional content. Currently, AST is the best healer for doing challenge sessions, because of the versatility its cards have, plus its almost endless MP pool. Sorry, WHM is not the top MP sustain unless AST always ignores Ewer/Spear cards; if you prioritize Ewer and Spear, AST will almost never run out of MP unless under extreme pressure. But that's the way it should be, in my opinion, because it lets us take on challenges if we so choose, instead of locking them behind MP gates. If I tried to do 4-man Royal Menagerie on WHM, I'd run out of MP so fast it would be impossible unless literally every party member played perfectly. And, of course, I believe healers should be able to throw in a bit of DPS without putting a huge MP strain on themselves.
But I wouldn't mind them nerfing AST's base values a bit. Frankly, they are too high compared to other healers. Or, as you suggest, they could just buff the other healers.
