    Is Prudent Touch too much?

For 3 more CP than Basic Touch, you have Prudent Touch which eats up only 5 durability. As we all know, if you build up to 11 Inner Quiet stacks, you're more than likely going to HQ. Prudent Touch makes this ridiculously easy... like... too easy.

Combine this with Manip 2 and it feels like you're pretty much set for anything else thrown at you. All RNG is completely gone at this point. Yeah, it's a pretty awesome feeling... but I dunno, it feels like the challenge now is just melding enough CP to be able to dump in 10 Prudent Touches in to your rotation for a guaranteed HQ.

I'm in no way complaining to the point of 'omg I quit', but I'm curious to hear from other experienced crafters as to how you feel about these new op skills we're getting now?

Feels like it's just devs trying to make it accessible to everyone, like the way the rest of the game is going.

    Thoughts?

Crafting overall seems really really easy this time around. I'm pretty sad. I haven't gotten to max yet, but just from playing around with the tools available to me, it doesn't look like it's going to get any harder. I would love to have a tier of really challenging crafts that make it so I can't just use a cookie cutter rotation.

I finished melding yesterday and ended up with about 520+ CP with food, 1400 craft and like 1240 control. With this much CP and all the new power skills we got there's zero challenge in this. With 0 starting quality, I'm almost at full quality before Byregot's even hits. Prudent is too strong.

I also hope there is a tougher tier to this because really this is going to take no thought for anyone to be able to accomplish. Anyone can do this now as long as they have the CP for it. There's no more rng, no more thinking on your feet, just boom HQ macro.

    Just really weird.

I do feel like there needs to be a massive step up in recipes.

This is what I'd like to see for 2 stars:
    5000 Progress
    26000 Quality
    60 Durability

That would make it at least more of a challenge because you now have to do more than a single 11 Inner Quiet stack finisher.

However, this is probably what 2 stars will look like:
    3600 Progress
    16000 Quality
    70 Durability

You guys just wait. The challenges will come. And when it does, we will all find that 11 IQ stack is not enough to HQ the item

They had been trying to construct something like that since HW. Hence, the creation of Byregot's Miracle and Precise Touch. At the end, Miracle didn't do the miracle, and Precise was not enough to quickly rebuild a half-spent IQ stack.

But now with Patient Touch, we can! I can foresee the need to spend half the IQ stack, and then rebuild a whole stack to 11 to Blessing something to HQ!

I think the thing to keep in mind was how easy HW 0-star recipes were when we only had the white level 70 gear. The yellow scrip gear will likely equal melded i290 crafter gear yet we will see 2-star recipes. So, the difficulty will get there.

i want to be able to craft HQ items with NQ mats for my free company members. if anything makes that harder. cash me out. but honestly why would i want to fork out 50+ million gil just to craft? way overpriced for the return

if people want crafting accessible to more people not just the few elite hardcore min maxing socialites something has got to give

i love to craft, but not to a point where i want it inaccessible to others because things are too strict or difficult in having the money to make a suit to even have the stats to craft items.

I think they need to strike a balance, which is why I believe there should be multiple difficulty tiers for different kinds of items, not uniform difficulty for every item. That will allow casual crafters to be able to HQ a wide assortment of crafts, yet provide players with an incentive to work out strategies to tackle harder crafts at the same time. What we have for non-star and 1* recipes right now are crafts that have the same difficulty as HQing an ARR 1-50 non master craft while totally over-geared and using a SH, GS, Innovation, Advanced Touch spam. Only it requires more buttons now so it's a lot longer and more annoying.

I don't think anyone is against the idea of easier accessibility in terms of gil cost and melds. But crafts should be balanced to be able to provide a challenge for the most desirable crafts at least and reward those who take the time to learn and master the system.

HW already made things easy enough to allow a crafter to craft from all NQ without learning anything (although single class crafters were kind of left in the dust just like in ARR). It was just slow as molasses since rotations necessitated HQing some intermediate mats as well. So working out improved strategies at least rewarded you with the ability to quickly pump out HQs from all NQ mats but at the small risk of an occasional NQ (cost vs benefit element).

It's pretty clear they intended the basic crafts from 60-70 to be more accessible...I'm sure new, higher tier items will provide some challenge. I also hope they make specialist actually mean something...iike give us specialist only END crafts (not intermediate bits.) Heck, how about some difficult BoP glamour recipes too...
