Since it's only going to happen once a day it will probably not even affect the majority of players.

"Hahaha, you idiots who don't want to switch servers are at your own fault. No need to stay on a full server, just switch. F*** friends, Linkshells, Houses or FC's you have on your current world. If you don't want to have long ques, either don't log out of switch servers! Idiots!"

Now this happens.
Gj, Community, you played yourself once again.
I do get and understand that. but I would hope they could figure out some sort of solution that doesn't affect players. like perhaps getting rid of bots?
It'll prevent log ins for 10 minutes, and remember there are potentially thousands of afk people online during the wipe, so the queues to get back on might not be as severe as people are worrying, because those thousands afk will not be queuing to get back in. I could be wrong, we'll see like you say! There's that but I feel that this change won't help us either, for example if I queue to log in after I get home from work, I'll go cook make sure everyonesx settled down and then get to play after about an hour or so of queue time, What if I log in im hit with the shutdown of the server to kick everyone and made not to be able to login again for 10 mins I'd only be hit with more Queue time x.x
Would be nice, but are there as many bots as there are thousands of afk players? There are enough afk in their houses on some servers that certain ward areas are unstable and kick people trying to go there. There must be an awful lot of them.
Pretty much this.

I... really don't think this will solve the AFK problem. Trim it slightly, maybe, but you're still going to get AFKers that will just be up to log back in and re-idle their characters once the timing is discovered.
Though, I suppose they're out of quick solutions, and they're just waiting for the population to bleed across other servers as well as interest in the expansion to drop off.
If they are clever about the timing then a lot of those people will be at work and unable to do so. hmm. I'd have rather they just made it so getting afk status kicked people no matter what they were doing, but hey ho. (I suppose that wouldn't have stopped the auto-run exploit.)I... really don't think this will solve the AFK problem. Timing is different each time and will be anonunced 1 hour prior.
Thanks SE for such a "green measure". The electricity saved by making long term afk while sleeping/working meaningless will be tremendous.
Will it be for all data centers?
If not, will the eu chaos data center be influenced?
So I transfer off of Balmung due to insane login queues from people AFKing, and now I'm going to get kicked out of the game randomly because I'm still on the same datacentre... Thanks Balmung :@
