I guess there was an earlier announcement, but, it never showed up for me.Once again, that was the second warning. I don't have a screenshot in game, but I copypasted it on Skype with a timestamp if you really need proof (or my chatlogs). We're on the same server, and both my FC and novice network were talking about it when it popped up at 1:58pm (I'm in NY, so it was 10:58am for PDT).
Edit: Aforementioned skype screenshot here.
As for that last line.... Had to wait behind 500 people to get back in
Huh...
Tried logging in to Balmung at 16:30ish....
Instant queue...
This seems to be at least somewhat effective.
Kicking every off of the worlds that don't have queue problems seems a bit extreme. Just do it for the problem-child worlds like Baldung and Gigramesh.
Or come up with an auto logout that people can't circumvent.
As I said before, not possible without Square spying on us, All you have to do is make any movement in game to reset the countdown which can be achieved in a large variety of ways and quite frankly I rather Enix not go and turn FF14 into Runescape, the 5 minute logout system was enough of a headache there. One would go afk for a min to take a leak then when they came back they'd be logged out forced to lack back in (and chatlog gone). Here in FF14 on top of that we also gotta wait in a login que to get back in (some servers worse than others) and to add insult to injury Square has the client setup to automatically close after a failed login attempt yea ... Can't blame someone for not wanting to logout considering that.
