-They're usually archers or black mages but I've seen a few arcanists and conjurers before

Only thing this DPS would tick off of here is the movement patterns. Keymash names are always a worrying sign when I bump into them. The Healer's only problem was that they kept going afk randomly, but, who knows. You're probably right. Either way, that run was the most torturous thing I had to tank in a long, long while.

Not that I'm a fan of this at all (I'm so not, my bf mains WAR and in 4man content I will login to his account to put VIT accessories on him if I have to) but on the healer forums here we have talked for a long time in the Great Healer DPS Debate about wanting content hard enough to heal through to make our DPS not an option... Did we do this to ourselves? Did SE actually listen to cretique and take it to heart? Cause if so ow.

For my own contribution did level 63 dungeon with 2 DPS pals (SAM and RDM who were clearly buddies) and my bf and I were giving them brief rundowns before each fight since they were new. They were doing such a good job through the second boss I even commented and said something about the damage being really consistant because it was.

Last boss. She's got like 20% HP left when the sharks summon and DPS keep burning the boss. I say "sharks please" and start killing the one on the SAM. My bf starts typing the same thing a moment later because they haven't switched targets still and eats Mad Stare. So he's bumbling around while I throw out some heals because the SAM ripped threat immediately (like I said good damage) but can't take a hit when the sharks on the RDM and me go off.

I know we are dead, we all had like half health even with Medica II ticking, so I get out a Bene on my boyfriend.

Then this badass switches to Deliverance and takes down the last 10% on his own! He fell cleeved so many times! I was very proud from my spot on the ground.

Best part? He tanked the giant tenticle monster on the spot where the SAM died xD

Just came across one of the worst tanks I have experienced in my life. I was on SAM and Selli was healing, we queue for Trials and get Bismark HM. This tank was a DRK who didn't have Grit on and actually turned Darkside off when it came to DPSing the spine. They were repeatedly losing aggro to the adds to the point where Selli had to Bene the other healer and was spam healing herself to stay alive. Both healers proceed to die because the mages weren't being tanked and the DRK flips out that the healers died to his/her adds and weren't able to hit the DKs... lol.

Leveling roulette as SCH drops me into Brayflox's Longstop. WAR, NIN, BRD. Not my favourite dungeon, but whatever. For some stupid reason, this unsynced WAR (who had PLD at 70, and dear god do I feel sorry for every other healer who has ever had to deal with this piece of work) decided to do big pulls. Because BRD + NIN is such a fantastic AoE combination at level 34.

Meanwhile, my MP is being sucked dry with trying to keep this idiot tank alive through these pulls that are taking forever to die, while also throwing out some DPS. Did I mention they were wearing STR accessories? It did not help.

To be clear, I could've kept my MP up. I'm overgeared and overlevelled for that dungeon, and I had Lucid Dreaming in addition to Aetherflow. So yeah, if I really wanted to, I could've managed my MP issues just fine. And yet, I couldn't help but think about how awful it must be, to be a new, unsynced, undergeared healer, landing with this tank who doesn't give two diddly shits about mechanics or party composition or literally anything that isn't their own convenience.

So I spoke up, asking if these pulls were really worth it. The NIN agreed that they weren't. The BRD just basically told me to stop arguing. Of course this WAR didn't want to listen.

We trundled along to Aiatar. At this point, I just wanted it to be over and done with. (Also if there is one good thing about the healer role abilities now, SCH gets Esuna at any level, and that is just the new best thing ever.) Aiatar started vomiting all over his room, and regenerating health, as he does. WAR refused to move him out of poison pools.

Who even knows why? Sure, just park the boss' ass right inside a pit of poison. Not like we had a melee DPS or anything, who needed to stay on that exact spot to actually do damage.

Oh, wait.

Once again, some people are just beyond help.

All I want to do is level my PLD, but terrible players keep making it so difficult. 50 minute Shisui runs are making me want to kill myself.

MNKs in i148 Halone DEX gear. NINs that don't use Ninjutsu. BRDs in STR that do nothing but auto-attack.

My only solace is that me leaving ensures these bloody fools have to waste the same amount of time re-queuing to get back into the instance while I go off and do FATEs.

Stone Vigil hard, me as SMN, friend tanking, and another newbie DD. And WHM healer. I notice WHM not doing any DPS at all and instead, you guessed it, standing still doing absolutely nothing between heals. I say in party chat "Hey WHM, when the tank isn't in any danger, don't be afraid to do some DPS! And Holy Stuns all enemies for a bit so the tank won't take any damage during that." WHM answers something about how they lost their mana regen ability in SB. They were not having any MP issues at all, but in any case I told them about Lucid Dreaming and that it should be slotted as high priority anyway. Then the WHM suddenly leaves, without saying a word, in the middle of a big pull. Our tank ended up dying, but I swiftcast raised and kited the monsters so that no one else died. Got another healer instantly (an AST who also did DPS...) and completed the run without any issues.

The best part: the WHM was a mentor. Didn't even know their own abilities.

First time it happens, tank doesn't stun. No big deal.

Second time, tank doesn't stun. Still not a big deal, but I let him know that move can be stunned for future reference. I figure he's new. (He wasn't.)

Him: Tanks don't get a stun
Me: You actually still have one, it's in your role actions
My friend: Press p you can find it there
Him: There's better stuff to cross role
My friend: LMAO ok
Him: lmao indeed

I have stun as one of my abilities. Your tank was an idiot. I'm still not convinced on the silence move we got. Probably a situational ability.

From using PvP DF this weekend for 8v8 Feast. Rather than detail the same things that happened repeatedly, just this:

1. Healers have limited access to AoE heals now.
2. If you run too far from a healer you are out of range (and they likely won't follow the one YOLO running solo into 5 enemy players unless it is a tank with ranged DPS support).
3. If you are not in line of sight (other side of fence, etc) healers cannot target you.
4. Chat was disabled a while ago for the Feast, so it's pre-made chat buttons or nothing.
