    I mean, the mindset has literally been "if you're tanking in (tank stance), you're doing it wrong" for the last 2 years

    Tanking was fine in ARR. Savage raids in HW took tank requirements it to another level. SE corrected their poor balancing by changing the tank damage formula. Then SE decided that was stupid and changed damage formula back to str.

    It makes no sense, and I agree with the community that it's a terrible design choice (though I think we'd find different reasons to claim it's terrible)

    All we really need is a little consistency from SE - not asking for much.

    Either make tanks hearty DPS officially, get rid of the damage penalties and all that - or get rid of the dps actions altogether and design content where mitigation and handling mechanics matter more than straight up damage. Consistency - one way or the other just make it consistent.

Especially when it doesn't have to be that way.

    Yeah, tanks should just deal with being less fun guys, play it so the queues on the fun jobs are faster, keep that tank stance on and try not to go over the bare minimum of usefulness and we can have a better experience for everyone.

    Yes, so we can be like 90% of the other jobs that are played at the bare minimum of usefulness.

    ,I'm gonna use them until i see a reason for more HP. If I'm in a dungeon and the healer asks me no to use them i have no problem changing and i will for them, but i ran dungeons all day with pug healers and they all had no problems with my HP. Since i started using them tanking is just more fun i enjoy it way more, before something felt off but now i feel like its the class is should have been.

    Probably just popped vengeance.

    With IB,Rampart and Vengeance you get that average hit of 17-19k, with Raw Intuition and Healer CD's you might be able to take 0 dmg and not even suffer the debuff.

    So I thought I would give it a try and I went into ex lakshmi and I had no problems with my lower HP and my dps was waaaayyy higher. I think doing it this was is only good if you know the fight and know when to use defensive cooldowns. I wouldn't do this in regular dungeons when I'm doing big pulls. I would however switch to str accessories when my party get to the boss.

    You could try hybridizing a bit with them. I began playing around a bit with some numbers, with Vit V Melded Str accessories, I replace 3 of my Vit Accessories to maintain ~40k HP while still having a decent DPS boost. I currently only have Str V melded onto my Vit accessories so if I switched to Str VI, I could get an extra 20 Str, but at the moment I have 1850 Str. Switching to Full strength, I have ~36k HP and 1976 Str. While I don't have the i320 Accessories from Lakshmi yet, with my i300 and i310 accessories I have about ~46k HP and 1661 Str.

    What it really comes down to is figuring how much HP you need for your party to be comfortable and replacing the excess with Str accessories. So you could potentially run some Str accessories while doing some larger pulls as long as you can figure out the sweet spot for that particular party and it would help your AoE aggro generation in the process. It will take a bit of experimenting, but it may be worthwhile to try it.

    This basically should be something that is fixed either change the way tank damage worked previous patch or make it so you can't use 270 str acc on tanks both options work.
