another point to you is, the animation skeleton of the Lupin is shared with the male miqo'te thus there clawed stance, but using the au ra as an example with yugiri when we first met her her horns were coverd, and her tail was hidden. as features became more decided upon they edited the live model to reflect that, by making her horns non bendy (which people thought were rabbit ears) adding a tail that became longer, and so on.

this could be the same in the lupins shoes, while the model we have now is only one thing we are talking a playable race 2 years from now, and over time the lupin could change into a more fitting race of people. only time can tell.
