Most likely to happen if 5.0 is when we go to Garlemald as it would suite the expansion theme.

Also there should be plenty of Gunblades looted from the defeat of Garleans after 2.0 by now considering Gunblades is standard issues for Garlean Soldiers.

Firearms seem pretty unpopular among Eorzeans/Domans, and even those that do use them are using black powder shotguns or flintlock rifles, not the more modern firing mechanics that gunblades use. I don't think anyone outside of Garlond Ironworks or Skysteel Manufactory would be interested in acquiring them.

Not quite as there is a Side-quest storyline that goes into this topic of people outside of Garlemald using Gunblades being a small Doma village.

As the side-quest stated the Gunblade is actually considered far easier weapon to master than any other weapon no matter a person's skill level and some of the new design Gunblades we see in 4.0 are using Flintlock rifles as part of their design.

of course this also revealed the gunblades are often looted from Garlean bases due to lack of security.
