Edit since I was on the phone: Thanks for the patch ups, but you guys should honestly keep in mind for the next expansion
that you need to double time the servers for like a week or so. It's sad to see the same thing happen every single time.
I don't ask for a compensation but a little more thorough planning...This launch was worse than 3.0, that's for sure but
at least it's evening out so we can all play after we wait 50 hours to log in!
Still people are progressin' so hey.

It's great that the dev team is working to fix issues currently present in the game, the instanced content being one of them that is causing major problems. However, the main issues that are being complained about in regards to early access and such, as well as the people constantly stating that it's just beta and will quickly sort itself out, are both missing the couple of vital points that I have not really seen discussed in any of the forum topics so far over the past couple days.

Putting aside the new content in general and early access....

The game in most of it's entirety is for the most part unplayable. This is in regards to all content from 2.x and 3.x. The instanced content from these cannot be accessed without a very high likeliness of being DCd. The world servers themselves have become highly unstable, kicking many players out minutes after getting in. The game is using a crude queuing system that does not distinguish any players (people trying to get in today and people being kicked out) from one another. This is affecting both current players, returning players, and brand new players.

This puts the current state of the game in a very bad light. The above issues ensure that new players can't get in and play the game, which can cause them to just leave permanently. Returning and current players can't make any progress or catch up on anything since nobody can consistently remain in the game without the risk of DCs and being thrown in the crude entry line.

Now, the fact that early access is "not official launch", "beta access", "stress test", means absolutely nothing. This is because the "official launch" is in two days as of this message. There is no sign of the dev team having a major fix for the issues at hand that can be implemented by the 20th. When "official launch" happens, the problem is actually more likely to get worse. Now the people who are trying to jump in who didn't have early access are going to be added into the mass hysteria that is the instability of the instance serves, world servers, and the queue issues.

That'll leave the comments that the issues will sort itself out in a week or two. The only foreseeable ways of that happening are as followed:

    1. Moving 1 of the main bloated servers to a different datacenter or forming a 3rd datacenter and moving 1 of the bloated worlds and some of the lesser worlds to it. Neither of these are going to happen because if these would happen, it probably would've already. Besides, there's no way either option would be viable in a very short period of time.

    2. Things stabilize because a large chunk of the playerbase just up and quits. Granted, that means less people rushing in like it's Black Friday to break the instances and worlds. However, it comes at a cost of the playerbase. New expansions and new content in general should encourage the communities in the game to expand and grow. Not to fracture the expanding playerbase by having people leave/quit so others can play. Besides, negative word of mouth travels very fast.

Do I find the current state of everything frustrating? Absolutely. I had hoped to spend the early access leveling SAM and jumping into the new content on the 20th. Now I spend all day waiting in a queue, getting kicked out 30s later, and falling back into a 4k+ queue on repeat. It's frustrating but no sense throwing a tantrum like an entitled child that's never been disciplined over it.

I do believe that SE should NOT be given a free pass over this, regardless of whatever reason a player can come up with.

2.x launch was horrendous. Almost completely unplayable. Even their actual betas (They actually had betas for 2.x) did not prepare them for the s***show that was 2.x launch. However, it should have been used a means of learning for the future. 3.x how A LOT of issues, and many of the instability issues that were happening were vocalized by the playerbase to SE. The bloated servers issue was mentioned then. And all throughout 2.x and 3.x the playerbase has made repeated mentions to the points that Balmung and Gilgamesh being on the same datacenter was terrible and needed resolution. Nothing was ever done about it and now we see the results.

The instance Walls in the current content just make it more prominent. They did not learn from the last 2 disasters, and they surely won't learn from this one either if we let them skate by. If we do, they'll just remain content with what feels like them using tape to keep the servers in tact until enough players quit/leave to stabilize them.

Do I feel we should be compensated? Not for early access. If there is compensation, it'd be because we could not get into the game to begin with with the instability of the world servers and instance servers causing players to get kicked out right after getting in. Right now I feel like the focus should be fixing the main issues and then looking at making sure this doesn't happen again in the future be addressing the root of the problem.

On a side note, one sign of generosity SE could do (most likely will not though) is to stall the current release schedule of the SB endgame content until they have successfully stabilized the world servers and instance servers to the point where all players can get in and play without fear of constant DCs. That way if the problems are going to be major for a week or two, it'll keep players on an even playing field during the exploding (figurative) servers that are a result of SE's shortsightedness and lack of preventative action for foreseeable major issues.

I agree there should be some form of compensation for this. We all payed for the service during this time and it was practically unplayable.

Nobody is asking to get something for free. Call it a sense of entitlement if you will but we have worked to earn the money that we spend on this game, and all we would ask for is what we have paid for.

If the apology is truly sincere, then let it not be in words alone. Please add the 2 days of time the service was not sufficiently provided to our subscriptions.

    Thank you.

the non Gilgamesh and Balmung servers work fine. Balmung is brokenly over populated.

They don't. We had 4k people in queue on Cerberus yesterday, from 4pm server time to 11pm ST.

I've seen some 16k people queues on Mateus, Omega (yes, 16k line for the latest European server, yay!), 40k for Balmung on day one... People need to stop white-knigthing the login queues. HW had none of that (we had queues but 30 mins max to log in), and even though the servers crashed the first day, after that it was all fine. Nowhere near the mess Stromblood is

I have seen no queue since I transferred to mateus yesterday. I was on Balmung before. Trust me, I know how bad the server was.

Hyperion has been nice to me for a while now. 100 person queue anyone? Goes by quickly in like a few seconds in most cases. (Had only one today that I know of that lasted 5mins or so). That said I haven't gone to the new stuff yet. I've been patiently waiting for the horde to finally get pass it.
