This happened to me during the first day of Early Access and just happened again. Both times power outtages knocked me offline and both times they've asked to do a first time setup and download the entire game again. What did they do to the game directory that it has to do this every time since I assume thats what its going to do from here on out. This was never an issue in Heavensward or in 2.0 for me, and I've gone through multiple power outtages with the game running.
Same here for me. I had several power outages during Heavensward but only had to re-download everything once. This happened to me during the first day of Early Access and just happened again. Is the current behavior working as the devs intended? Or is it a bug? We really need to know.
I'm currently using a UPS to prevent this from happening again but I do not like the fact a hard reset means 100% re download. This is completely inconvenience for people with slow download speed...
This happened to me now.
When I wake up and turn on the PC, the Steam started downloading the 9Gb then 18GB from Lancher
Hope Square fix this soon.
Just hit me a bit ago. 22.7GB update, estimated time to completion is ~1500 minutes. This is going to take a while.
And no response yet...
I put my PS4 in rest mode and left the app open last night and it didn't make me redownload this time. Temporary fix if you can leave your PS4 plugged in and have no power outages I guess.
I've had power blips and outtages all throughout ARR and Heavensward, and I've never had to redownload the entire thing again except for maybe one time.
It's beyond frustrating to have FINALLY gotten passed the Cold Steel blockade and have this happen, only to be unable to play again for the next 5 hours while the game re-downloads itself.. With all of the weather coming throughout my region the past two weeks and upcoming weeks, it almost makes me hesitant to play until this issue is resolved.
Just happened to me. Got 90k then spent over an hour in the queue. Power went out while I'm queue now I have to download the entire game again. This is absolutely ridiculous.
Same thing here. I've never had this happen to me before all throughout ARR and HW, and power outages are frequent in my rural area. Honestly, I cannot re-download the entire game again, as even this arbitrary patch that pops up estimates it would take 7000 minutes to download, and then it always errors and stops anyway. I haven't even been able to play Stormblood at all yet.
I will likely be calling customer service to try to get my money back on Monday. I paid a ridiculous amount of money for collectors edition early access, played the game for about a day (was just finishing up the last couple 3.5 quests), and this happened to me last night. So my game broke right before Stormblood; didn't even get to try it. I understand that my situation is not common, with my slow rural connection, but the only solution should not be to download the entire thing again and hope it doesn't happen next time...
This is really disappointing and heartbreaking, as I was very excited to play the new expansion. Glitches and bugs are always an issue with a new release, of course, but they're addressing minor issues while leaving those of us with game-breaking problems just sitting here, locked out and ignored.
