If only there were some way to make the attire truly unique. Perhaps like a special tailor vendor or somesuch about a week before the ceremony?Haha!
I think the "incorporate your character/party into the cutscenes" tech would work wonderfully for wedding ceremonies.
If this does become a future option, I humbly beg not to have the wedding dresses designs slightly vary per race. I hate when I get an uglier outfit because I'm a hume instead of miqote.
So far from what I've counted the votes so far are 31-8 for in-game marriage. I'll be working on the addendum once more to incorporate suggestions others had.

Seems the topic of weddings in FFXIV has been added to the discussion table. It's probably nothing solid at this point, but at least you know they're aware of the subject and are thinking about it. I'd love to see what the cathedral looks like.Finalfantasy14.eu :
In the description of the future world changes, we notice that Eorzea will undergo an incredible change. That kind of change is very appreciated by the roleplayers, as well as the apparition of personal flats. Will other similar things be set for that kind of player, such as weddings?
Naoki yoshida :
The map we showed during the live broadcast was of the Northern area, but actually in the South there is a place which is going to be a cathedral. It would be nice to have weddings there, it is something we are discussing.
The interview.
you have my apologize, if the response make you feel that wayThe rewards wouldn't be game breaking. Mostly aesthetic. That's also why I suggested major drawbacks for divorce (such as a hefty fine) and a lengthy process before you can get married, because this would make people think twice about getting married just for the rewards.
Also, I was just throwing ideas out, didn't realize that was grounds for the "gtfo and play another game" response.
No.
And just because there aren't more people speaking up in this thread doesn't mean there aren't more people against it. Who'd want to come in here and get their beliefs stomped all over and bullied? This subject tears otherwise friendly players apart. That alone is why in-game marriage role-play should be left to the linkshells.
I clearly said in my revised post that 31 of the participants in this thread were for it. People need to stop being so presumptuous and try to speak for the masses. That's the reason why I renounced my Catholic faith in the first place.No.

However, it's like I said in my original post: Leave the debating and e-drama out of this thread. All I asked was for in my original post was a yes or no and you've already said your piece. Everyone who brought their own personal beliefs to the table did so of their own accord, therefore it's not your place to say that I'm encouraging people to debate it out when I clearly didn't.
The only reason this topic would become volatile is if those inciting the debate are intent on trying to change their opponent's minds which, in my opinion, is rather futile via the internet unless you approach the situation as you would with a friend of yours. You wouldn't berate them or poke fun at them if you seriously wanted to talk about something. You'd give them the respect that is expected of every human to another, listen to them make their points and they listen to yours. If in the end their convictions are still rock-solid, then you'll just have to live with it. The same goes for these forums, except instead of talking it out like rational people: Most still insist on infuriating others with baseless assumptions and petty insults.

bring marriage into the game. same sex and opposite sex.
then people can do with that feature what they do with anima,
choose to use it, or choose not to.
we dont need arguements like this on the forum. its a game, if they add the feature enjoy it.
just if they do add it, DONT make a load of threads to get it removed like alot of you did with anima.
god that arguement was tiresome lol
People made threads against anima? You've got to be kidding...Can you link me one? I doubt anyone had any valid arguments against it. Ha ha ha.bring marriage into the game. same sex and opposite sex.

I'm all for in game marriages. My wife and I had our characters get married in XI, and since they are coming out with Male Mi'qote, well once I go to Ishgard for that umm.. special operation... We could do it again in XIV, that'd be cool.
