I really rather it not be a big thing, but a simple right-click on your friendlist and selecting one friend to be your partner, or going to a npc to register your fellowship for a gil-sink fee.
If people want to RP it out and invite friends more power to them, but I feel an archaic custom being implemented would only cause arguments to erupt and moral lines being drawn on people faces, possibly in the shape of cat whiskers.

We were the first to kill Ifrit.

Yeesh...you're very business-like about this, aren't you? More than anything I wanted to add another dimension for people to actually role-play instead of slaving away on endless mobs simply for the sake of progression. I get bored out of my mind when that happens. Overall I just want the XIV experience to be more engrossing for players who want to take part in the actual role-playing part of a Massively-Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game.
I'm not saying that what you're suggesting's a bad idea. It just seems more of a "friends with benefits" feature...Err...no innuendo intended.
As I said, if people want to put on their best clothes and RP themselves they can, nothing is stopping them. Real RPers don't need a npc to do all the work for them, right? They could have a wedding right now if they wanted to.Yeesh...you're very business-like about this, aren't you? I would like that.
And should be cool if there are more than one option of weeding clothes, it should make the experience even more cool.
People are all for Wedding Bells in Eorzea, as long as they aren't these bells:

Haha!
I think the "incorporate your character/party into the cutscenes" tech would work wonderfully for wedding ceremonies.
If this does become a future option, I humbly beg not to have the wedding dresses designs slightly vary per race. I hate when I get an uglier outfit because I'm a hume instead of miqote.

If only there were some way to make the attire truly unique. Perhaps like a special tailor vendor or somesuch about a week before the ceremony?Haha!

So far from what I've counted the votes so far are 31-8 for in-game marriage. I'll be working on the addendum once more to incorporate suggestions others had.
Formerly Rounnin Tiankeris of Kashuan; reborn as Yongdi Washou of Hyperion.
May we continue to walk in the light of the crystal and restore Eorzea to its former glory.

No.
And just because there aren't more people speaking up in this thread doesn't mean there aren't more people against it. Who'd want to come in here and get their beliefs stomped all over and bullied? This subject tears otherwise friendly players apart. That alone is why in-game marriage role-play should be left to the linkshells.
