and good scholars know how to manage the fairy so they can maximize dps. i see a lot of scholars waste their stacks in useless indoms when whispering dawn would do the job just as well

also gutted? did you even look at what scholar got in sb? excogigation is one of the best single target heals because you dont have to time it and worry, fey union is a 960 potency heal on 1 target and you dont even have to CAST it
    1. Fey Union is 480 potency per tick, and it has a range of 10y according to the in-game tooltip. This is actually terrible, because the leading death of fairies is physical boss cleave, so it makes positioning awkward if used to heal a tank.

    2. Dissipation is rarely used for opener and will be even less now due to the cost of fairy resummon. Mana restriction is suddenly a massive thing, and aetherize only returns a partial amount of mana needed to resummon the fairy on its own. Using energy drain for the opener takes care of this mostly, but see #3.

    3. Using Energy Drain while under the effects of Dissipation will not charge your fairy meter since the fairy must be summoned in order for the meter to register charges. This is a disappointment.

    4. Excogitation is a useful variant of lustrate for tank busters and moments where you fully expect a tank to drop below 50%, such as when grabbing an AoE squad, and the buff lasts 30 seconds which is serviceable. However it has a 60 second cooldown and still costs an aetherflow stack, so its use is limited.

    5. Scholars actually do heal, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling you a big fish story. You can only leave it up to the fairy totally if you overgear the instance or the tank is extremely conservative on its pulls. The sole exception for this is early in the level 30's in places like Haukke Manor. It's true that switching into cleric stance was "safer" with SCHs, because a strong shield and fairy support gave you a hefty time before you needed to actively heal, and prior to HW the ability to cast a percentage-based lustrate while still in cleric stance was admittedly broken, but lustrate was changed to a flat, unbuffable amount which heals for drastically less on tanks than it used to, so this hasn't really been an advantage for over a year now.
