1 the op clearly doesnt understand probability
2 theyre assuming you use only 3 aetherflow skills on the opener (even lazy scholars use 6)
3 it really isnt only 1 extra aetherflow stack over six minutes. just getting One proc gives you the extra use of aetherflow since youll get it 10 seconds earlier, and lets you use the energy drains before the 6 mins end
4 did you even read what i said about the opener? the trait adds another 450 potency on the first minute if youre semi lucky after using 9 energy drains

I have to ask, who told you this was an opener cause it most certainly is not. Unlike the other healers we had a rotation to maintain DPS, Shields, and our MP. And any GREAT Scholar healed, they didn't just let their fairy do it, they controlled their fairy, placed them, and knew when they needed to add heals and when they could focus on other things. Any Scholar who did this would be dead in the water, especially if they got one of those groups. Plus until now we had to stance dance, and while its wasn't much, there was a delay. There was a reason we were the Tactical Healer, we have gated heals and abilities that require coordination to use and precise timing. But know I dunno, they gutted us like a fish, T.T

OP factors in dissipation. You didn't read it, I can tell.1 the op clearly doesnt understand probability

Semi lucky is 0.20 ^ 3.
That's 0.8%

i know you cant always use dissipation on opener because some fights do have damage at the beginning but if its shit like faust or zurvan like. why wouldnt you
a lot of things dont need shields to survive either so its a waste of mp
and good scholars know how to manage the fairy so they can maximize dps. i see a lot of scholars waste their stacks in useless indoms when whispering dawn would do the job just as well
also gutted? did you even look at what scholar got in sb? excogigation is one of the best single target heals because you dont have to time it and worry, fey union is a 960 potency heal on 1 target and you dont even have to CAST it

Fey Union has yet to be utilized, so its usefulness has yet to be completely realized. But as of right now its basically Dissipation 2.0 good in theory but might see little use overall.
As for Excognition, I wanna know what you are smoking that you think its a good skill, cause I want some. In theory its good, but the execution is horrible.

1. Fey Union is 480 potency per tick, and it has a range of 10y according to the in-game tooltip. This is actually terrible, because the leading death of fairies is physical boss cleave, so it makes positioning awkward if used to heal a tank.i know you cant always use dissipation on opener because some fights do have damage at the beginning but if its shit like faust or zurvan like. why wouldnt you

2. Dissipation is rarely used for opener and will be even less now due to the cost of fairy resummon. Mana restriction is suddenly a massive thing, and aetherize only returns a partial amount of mana needed to resummon the fairy on its own. Using energy drain for the opener takes care of this mostly, but see #3.
3. Using Energy Drain while under the effects of Dissipation will not charge your fairy meter since the fairy must be summoned in order for the meter to register charges. This is a disappointment.
4. Excogitation is a useful variant of lustrate for tank busters and moments where you fully expect a tank to drop below 50%, such as when grabbing an AoE squad, and the buff lasts 30 seconds which is serviceable. However it has a 60 second cooldown and still costs an aetherflow stack, so its use is limited.
5. Scholars actually do heal, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling you a big fish story. You can only leave it up to the fairy totally if you overgear the instance or the tank is extremely conservative on its pulls. The sole exception for this is early in the level 30's in places like Haukke Manor. It's true that switching into cleric stance was "safer" with SCHs, because a strong shield and fairy support gave you a hefty time before you needed to actively heal, and prior to HW the ability to cast a percentage-based lustrate while still in cleric stance was admittedly broken, but lustrate was changed to a flat, unbuffable amount which heals for drastically less on tanks than it used to, so this hasn't really been an advantage for over a year now.

i mean i used to do full lv 60 dungeon runs in cleric stance but i guess you like to use selene on pulls or something
just fyi 480 potency per tick is huge. its a stronger regen than all of ast's or whm's hots combined. 10 yalms isnt even that close but again, you probably never use eos and probably waste all your mp and stacks in healing stuff that eos can do perfectly fine with whispering dawn, so you woudlnt know
i bet youve never seen how many times healers actually cast heals in speedruns
but whatever. you can play how you want i was just saying the trait is actually pretty nice

Okay, please just stop now you xan defend your argument, you have every right to. But you are starting to insinuate base claims about us and our playstyle. It doesn't matter how we used our kit, whether we were considered good or bad, what matters is that the skills we had and the prices we paid for them have been change so drastically, that it makes no sense anymore. If you were able to perform these great acts, thats great, either you are just that awesome or you always had competent groups. Either way please stop indicating we might be bad because we didnt play like you.
